Beidou with alhaitham combo is so good, you get good damage, some resistance, and the EM stat on your beidou isn't useless anymore

@@minamiheroine4397em isn't a dead stat on aggravate, it boosts the damage by a bit at least until 500 em. Of course crit and dmg% are better but having em isn't bad either

Layla switching her weapon to Catalyst would give her a really big buff. Then they could use Dragontales or Prototyp Amber. Both have HP% Sidestat for better Shield and passives that fit in her role as support. Layla could be also a driver for Freeze and Melt teams and build Ice bridges

Man, all this coments about international are killing me. I finally got Yelan so my Alhaitham quickbloom its done. I like Childe and I want to change my Rational for something else, I grew tired of Raiden pushing mobs outside of Bennet's ult. But at the same time I want to save for Furina, Clorinde and Arlecchino.

I was the one who asked him about the 8 units - I've been thinking about that question and asking my friends ever since i watched that 4th AZ (credit to @Bryan, though their username might be different by now because of the recent changes), and ngl I'm really happy to see people in the comments giving their own opinions too, really interesting to see how people play the game 😄 1:07 was kinda weird to hear though, because last time he picked 8 units which could make 4 teams with some switching around, and he pointed that out... Btw my picks would be Fischl Kazuha Sucrose Nahida Kokomi Yelan Ganyu Yoimiya (+Raiden Venti Ayaka Yaoyao if 12)

if eula was a polearm then i would have pulled her to be an onfielder in hyperfridge and it would have been so broken (with kuki, dmc/nahida, xingqiu) because she would get full benefit from the electro app which is all she needs to do good damage, and her cryo would be useful for freeze and a few extra seeds.

If i can only pick 8, id pick Lyney mono pyro (lyney kazuha bennett xiangling) Itto mono geo (itto gorou zhongli albedo) RIP my 36* but its what it is, i find them the most fun personally style wise at least, since we cant have any other units id rather have fun exploring with this 8 units instead of playing international and AH quickbloom everytime for abyss.

Honestly, hydro Dehya would be pretty useful. Would be one of the few hydro AoE characters, probably have a larger emphasis on the HP scaling on base kit and even moreso on C1, and due to her slow elemental application every 2.5s, she probably would forward vape more often than enable reverse vape. Then her burst would also be a hydro enabler and considering that Xiangling isn't dependent on NA as much as energy, Dehya would probably either vaporize herself or let XIangling vape. Also, she would have better competition. Pyro competition is much tougher for Dehya more than hydro competition as there is so few hydro DPS outside of V1.1 Childe and V2.6 Ayato.

nope, that would not fix her main problems (energy, damage, dоgshit defensive utility, unusable e, can keep going). and we already have A LOT of good hydro units, childe and ayato work well, nevilette will be released soon, and it's not like hydro's for damage. besides, we all know that best hydro dpses are xq and yelan also her being hydro means that her energy problems would become nearly unsolvable in xiangling team and she wouldn't get kazuha buff, that would make her negligible damage literally unexisting

@@bequiet3944 then what is your answer to the question: if you were to change the element of a character, who would it be? Like if you can't say Dehya, then you probably aren't being imaginative about it. I could also see pyro Childe being pretty good for forward vape Yelan, electro Congyun so you prettymucu can make anyone an aggravate character, especially Zhongli as a fast aggravater dps, and also Hydro Razor. Razor would be able to reverse or forward vape his own attack, or shatter-freeze at the same time. Maybe an electro Xinyan would be better too. Like, we have no pure electro shielder, plus phys build best fits for electro/cryo characters.

We have a lot of hydro AoE characters though. Childe is an on-field AoE enabler/dps, Ayato is AoE and so is Mona, Kokomi and technically even Nilou and C6 Candace. If Dehya was hydro, there would be even less incentive to use her. Her numbers are so bad that her triggering vape would not mean much. In a Xiangling comp, her application is so abysmal that you'd be better off using Childe/Ayato. Even for defensive utility, you'd go for Kokomi instead since she offers not only healing but better buff (ttds) and dmg with Clam set. Xingqiu could also be a better defensive option in certain teams with his dmg res and personal dps. If anything, she'd be worse off as a hydro unit than a pyro unit since competition is way higher. Hydro units in general are better than most of the pyro units in the game. At least as pyro she's viable in Xiangling mono pyro and melt Ganyu. Besides, as someone else pointed out, changing elements wouldn't fix the major issues of her kit.

@@cee5899 how many AoE hydro off fielders do we have? 1. Ayato- burst dependent, expensive burst 2. Kokomi- stationary small AoE 3. Candace- needs C6, otherwise CD on swapping out 4. Nilou- more viability in bloom than elsewhere 5. Mona- short hydro duration We lack a large AoE hydro skill, something like Nilou, but not niche. Yet if we have a hydro Dehya, you have a huge skill radius to apply aoe hydro. Will only have to compete with Xingqiu for IR in the hydro category, and Xingqiu has the limitation of NA-necessary, and ST. Dehya then would be a pretty solid pick for nilou bloom teams. She pretty much would have the damage for all incoming super bloom damage, and she heals herself so even herself can be driving throughout. Dehya vs Thoma for pyro. Dehya vs Xingqiu if hydro. Both competitions are burst dependent and ST. Hydro Dehya wouldn't have to be crutched by Bennett and Xingqiu would battery Dehya, especially since Yelan can go on other teams. But Bennett and Xiangling are always tied together. Y'know what. Dendro Dehya is the way to go. You got burgeon, you got additive dmg through spread, and you have AoE dendro. Dendro itself would actually fix Dehya because dendro roster isn't as competent as hydro and pyro roster.

if I can only use 8 units, I'd likely go with rational and hyperbloom(my version at least). raiden, xiangling, bennett, yelan nahida, kuki, fischl/yae, xingqiu

I'd pick Yelan, Kazuha, Bennett, Nahida, Xingqiu, Zhongli, Yae Miko and Kokomi. I wanna get the both of best worlds of being good for the abyss and for exploration. Yelan, whom I own with C1 makes exploration so easy. Kazuha for gaining air ground and especially trying to jump up sloped ledges. You can't go wrong with Zhongli, especially since you probably would take a longer amount of time mining ores in overworld such as spamming plunge attacks, Kazuha plunges, and Beidou swings. Zhongli and Kokomi makes several daily commissions trivial. Nahida makes collecting natural floral resources easy. The rest are solid for the abyss as well. Bennett's there for pretty much the abyss as well as pyro totems. Xingqiu and Kokomi for hydro totems and Yae is afk winner. I'd hate to make overworld exploration detrimental just to make a 2-week cycling Abyss an easier clear. You earn more primogems from exploration moreso than Abyss so that's the reasoning for my choices. Choose the strongest that also have QoL features for overworld. Benny hanging strong for both, especially for torch ignition.

The best example for "changing elements of a character" would be Hydro Thoma. A hydro shielder with off field application? He would go from least used unit to most used overnight. Here's hoping Hoyo makes a character like this.

@@madyou4210 Xingqiu and Yelan don't have piercing hydro app. Thoma's Blazing Barrier goes through enemies. It's a shield too, so unlike XIngqiu and Yelan, Thoma prevents damage from getting to your character. Also, hydro resonance goes really strong for a hydro Thoma.

Hydro Thoma wouldn’t change anything because his ICD stays the same. his hydro application won’t be good enough for reaction unless you pair him with another hydro. if you’re gonna pair him with another hydro anyway, then why not just play XQ+Yelan ? Thoma not being Pyro would also spell doom to VV vape Hu Tao and burgeon team. limiting the team variety even further. The only good thing I see about Hydro Thoma is the fact that it allows casual Hu Tao Mains to free their Xingqiu for another team. Yelan alone cannot keep up with Xingqiu, so Thoma does help a bit.

⁠⁠@@flamezforthegamez1056 you seems to forget that 1. Xingqiu’s DMG reduction is enough to keep you alive and it does heal your character. 2. In Double Hydro Hu Tao team, there’s Zhongli in the party. 3. In Double Hydro Hyperbloom, there’s Kuki in the party. 4. Both XQ and Yelan does tremendous amount of damage. which help you eliminate the threat very quickly. after all, you can’t take much damage if the enemy die before they have a chance to continuously attack you.

@@nanathedelta8561 a Hydro Shielder would free both Zhongli AND a hydro unit from your team, allowing you to not only use Zhongli and Xinqiu/Yelan on another team, but also add another off-field dps, like Xiangling, increasing the team's dps tremendously while keeping the survivability and hydro application. Also "Xinqiu's DMG reduction and heal is enough to keep you alive"? Seriously?? Why people still run Zhongli then? If its enough, then he isn't needed, right?

My top 8 characters picks would be: * international: Tartaglia, Xiangling, Bennett, Kazuha * Alhaitham quickbloom: Alhaitham, Kuki, Xingqiu, Nahida And if top 12 charas, the additional 4 characters would be: Venti, Zhongli, Fischl and Beidou These are the most versatile characters for me and I use them most of the time, especially in Abyss. I also have fav characters when it comes to design and/or personality, but I’m not quite fond of their playstyle/kit/numbers (like for example Diluc or Ayato). I also really like playing freeze teams, especially Ayaka freeze, after getting Shenhe and Kokomi it’s really a different team when it comes to damage and freeze uptime. But i mostly take this team to overworld mob farming or to some domains, I rarely take freeze to Abyss though, especially nowadays.

5:07 Thoma and Layla. If Thoma wasn't a spier user his shield with Sacrificial would be BUSTED! as for Layla if she was a catalyst user she would be able to run a TTDS making her one of the best Cryo supports. As for different elements, I think Diona and Albedo would benefit A LOT! As a Cryo and Geo units their EM buffing means NOTHING but if they were a different element they would be FANTASTIC! Especially if they were Pyro. Diona would basically do the same thing as off field Dehya but would be better and Albedo would be Xiangling without ER requirements. 9:50 ...Well use your charged attacks at the beginning of a battle to gain two stacks. And then even with Dehya you'll just have to do two charged attacks and a burst, you'll have enough time for that.

For me it would definitely include Tighnari, Yae, Kuki, at least C1 Beidou, Alhaitham, Nilou, XQ, Yelan. With extra 4 slots I would keep Dehya, Layla.. not sure about the last spots, depends on mood.

IDK what his opinion are you talking about, but as for his beidou take i kinda agree on with him because he specifically talking about the team using kuki. Using beidou is enough due to resistence interuption and damage reduction on top of being strong off field dps even though her shield isn't really big. Zhongli would be too much of a defensive utility coz you already have healer. Now if it was with raiden and not kuki then zhongli can be better

I have 36 star abyss ever since 1.0 when floor 12 is full of ice 😅, imma just go with childe, xiangling, any anemo (personally kazuha), bennet & any 2 chara with yelan, xingqiu its good enough to beat anything in the game lol

My 8: Kazuha, Yelan, Zhongli, Nahida, Yoimiya, Kokomi, Raiden, Ayaka Next 4: Hu Tao, Alhaitham, Ganyu, Bennett I'm going mostly off of how often I use them, but also a twinge of how much I like using them. Yoimiya is my favorite character in the game and I use her alot, but she's not like...SSS tier and there are better options. It's just that I like her so much that I wouldn't be willing to put a more meta char in over her if it meant I could never use her again.

Catalyst Nilou, so she can use TTDS for a cheap option, or help out with healing via Proto Amber (so the healer can go harder on EM too), and possibly be on-fielded in 2H2D? Bit of a pipe dream though, since the whole tradeoff of her E is that you can only on-field her if you forgo the ring.

Yae, Kokomi, Baizhu, Kazuha Alhaitham, Nahida, Yelan, Kuki For 12 units, i would add Ayaka, Hu Tao, Zhongli and Raiden just to cover 7 elements. Could've picked Xingqiu but Yelan is just more useful, Abyss + exploration + bow character for puzzles.

I'd go for raiden yelan xiangling bennet Yae nahida kokomi fischl If I had to add 4 to make it 12 I'd go for xingqiu nilou yaoyao and dmc The logic behind those is: H don't want to lock myself into Nilou bloom if I'm only allowed to go for 8, since some abyss cycles would be too hard - I'm choosing dmc just in case I want to do Nilou on one half and quicken on the other - no need for kuki since I can go raiden national or em raiden for hyperbloom - maybe I'd regret not choosing kazuha? I'm not sure about this one, I don't think he's mandatory on any of my possible teams So, if I were to choose those 12 units I could make the following teams ( "//" Indicates one or the other) Raiden xiangling yelan//xq bennet Most of the relevant Nilou bloom teams while still having hydros and one dendro unit for the other team Yae fischl kokomi//yelan//xq yaoyao//nahida Em raiden kokomi//yaoyao nahida xq So I'd basically play with 4 out of 7 elements, no cryo anemo or geo for me, while also heavily depending on dendro and hydro, not surprised since they are my favorite elements Anyways, if any of you bothered reading all this, thanks and sorry for writing such a long dissertation, I actually quite enjoyed the idea of theorizing around only 8-12 units

For element swap Pyro Xinquo ou Pyro Childe would be a sick and OP element swap for me. All element swap that involve melt / vaporize basically. Hoyoverse doen't give us good pyro app or hydro app anymore, and it's on purpose of course, it's too strong of a reaction.

Idk why but Im liking my Dehya/Lynette/Nahida/Xingqiu team a lot cuz somehow Lynette can infuse her burst with pyro consistently enough so she can become a burgeon char lol and since Dehya's E takes ages to hit she doesnt steal much burgeons from Lynette at all.

@@AdrasAdraki you don't, but the way xq and yelan burst works complement al's hyper carry style. I would probably put yaoyao instead of yelan, just for the healing. See, everyone has different play style

For me it would be - yelan,nahida,xinqiu,sucrose,bennet,alhaitham, raiden,Xiangling. One side is alhaitham qucikbloom and the other is national.

If i could change one characters element... it would have to be ninguang, being geo is just not doing her any favours whatsoever. For 8 characters only: yelan, raiden, kazuha, kuki, nahida, bennett, xingqiu & yae. Not the most flexible, but flexible enough to where i could shift characters around to have variety for my favourite team archetypes
