Zed I'm SO GLAD Martin let you film his wonderful work!! He is truly a master and also an excellent teacher. I picked up so many axe tips from him. One habit I have to break myself of is moving the axe in different directions, rather than keeping it vertical and moving the wood around). I've mostly just been practicing on wood scraps making spoons and believe me, most of them are little disasters!😆 I think that if I sent you a picture of them it would make you physically ill, haha...But Martin had such clearly-explained carving tips and also the common mistakes people make. I have always loved burled/burred wood but I've never actually seen it being carved. It really is surprising inside, and also I didn't know that it tends to change shape a bit as it dries out. Thanks for a super video, Zed! You did an amazing job filming, and you also asked some really good questions! Cheers! Stella

With the awesome video, I am confident that I could that now. I have carved a few spoons already and am ready to move on to new things. Btw, we have arrested Philip now. Another great video Zed. Since Martin is an expert in carving from burls, I wonder if you and he would ever consider doing a video on the subject of preventing/repairing the inevitable cracks that come with the territory.
