The future is bright. Today's data from Roche's CT-996 for 7.3% weight loss (vs. 1.2% placebo) is an awesome example.

This is a tough subject for me. my insurance won't cover weight loss "drugs", though they are fine with cutting my stomach down to the size of a thimble or putting a sleeve on it with major surgery. 😳. So I can't afford name brand and am paying 100 bucks a week for compound tirzepitide through a very good telehealth doctor. If the shortages end, and the compound pharmacies are no longer authorized, then I am left out in the cold. I started at 358, pre diabetic, high blood pressure but that, apparently, is not "sick enough" to warrant covering this medication. So, for me? I pray the shortages continue. Cuz I can't afford $1400 a month. Something has to change. I hope time will bring a new perspective on obesity and the shaming culture subsides. I also hope that there is some pressure, from somewhere to get these greedy corporations to seek the greater good and balance it out. Not holding my breath.

Economics 101 says that reducing the price will increase demand. As long as they sell every single pen that they make, it doesn't really make sense to reduce the price.

Re: Roche’s amazing CT-996 readout/results … *fantastic* to get 7.3 percent weight-loss in just *4 weeks* (even if some of it may be water weight). BUT, it’s the same ol’ dealio as most of the other mindblowing readouts: Everyone: WOW! Incredible results, Roche! I think I may wanna be on THAT! 😯 Roche: (takes a bow) Thank you. We’re very proud. Everyone: Soooo… when does it come out? Roche: Umm, like 2029 or so. If we’re lucky. Everyone: (blank stare) Uh, well, that’s kinda a long time. Probably most *everyone else* will have drugs with fantastic weight-loss out by then, too. Roche: (finger to lips) Shhhh! We know, we know. Don’t say it too loud. The stock’s way up today. 🤷🏼‍♂️ 🤷🏼‍♀️ 🤷🏿 (Full disclosure: I’m a Roche investor.)

Sadly, I may have contributed to the shortages. I ended up with a supply that is greater than a month. I may need to seek treatment for compulsive hoarding. #releasethevials

I just read the Roche article. Very interesting. I think Lilly is waiting for all insurance companies to not cover it to make more money.

I am suspicious that "maximizing revenue/profits" is why Eli Lilly seems to be producing more ZepBound than Mounjaro. Mounjaro is more often covered by insurance.

I think there’s just no way to keep up with the pens. I think we will see more rolling shortages in the next few weeks, akin to March.

Yeah zepbound is impossible to find on any dose other than the starting dose. For right now I’m happy and lucky to be on wegovy.

@michaelclanton1152 I saw that LillyDirect/Truepill has 5 mg zepbound. I have an active prescription there, but no ins coverage, so sticking to compound from Empower Pharmacy.

@Nat Not saying it isn’t bad, but it’s at least somewhat regional. I just filled a scrip of 12.5 Zep this week with no delay/issues. It isn’t fair, but it seems to be random in that way - aka be lucky in your locale. 😕

@@cloakster happy to hear that. Regionally in Illinois, zepbound 5mg and up is slim pickings. This is based on what my friend says. I’m on wegovy.
