Thanks! I have the SDX and it came with Big Bite tire which are made just for Hustler. Crap. These don't come in my size but it's good to see the aggressive thread does not tear up the lawn; at least as much as skidding and spinning.

yeah, I mean you def can if you wanted to tear up your buddies yard with them! as long as I don't get real aggressive on turns they are doing well

I just bought a Raptor XD with the Big Bite tires and while they look aggressive, they might as well be slicks. 12 inches wide and hard as a brick, even aired down to 5 psi.

@@style5tie Just saw this. I finally got some bar-tread type tires that my local tire dealer installed. They are a lot more aggressive and provide better traction. Just have to be cautious turning. Carlisle Stryker Tires I think is the model.

That's wild. From my view, that slope doesn't look steep at all. I have a Bobcat ZT with stock turf tires. I can only shake my head each time they spin.

A good option is look at atv tires but with good tires have to be more careful when turning altho factory tires are most likely ripping up the hill side already so you might actually cause less damage just be careful when you first switch and see what is happening

I do landscaping and if I have a property like that I dont mow the hills sideways i will do them at and angle or up and dont so i dont flip etc

FYI...for the best steep hill mowing will always be an old lawn mower with a steering wheel.....zero turns only steer with the drive wheel, front wheel just swivel...so drain ditches, heavy sloaps ..use ya old Walmart lawn mower, sit on the fender and side saddle that sucker🙂.....works every time

For newer mowers: ZT's drive with both rear wheels, and normal riders (regular residential models under $4k) all have the hydrostatic drives with pedals which are usually super sensitive, and only one rear wheel turns, so they're HORRIBLE on any slopes without modifications. I'm on my 3rd new mower in 3 weeks for this reason and finally just bought a Cub ZT since I had a ZT before on my hills with no problem. Point is, newer lawn tractors are no where as good as they used to be!

Grasshopper mowers are more balanced for doing slopes, because the drive wheels are at the center between the deck and the engine.

How are these tires holding up , I had OEM tires and man had the scare of my life went straight slid into the retention pond. I am now on a quest to get more traction because I don't want to have another one of these episodes. My old lawn tractor I did not have this issue at all , but now with the zero turn it's a bit scary at angle.

prob about 30 hours on them so far, no real signs of treadwear, but they don't see much concrete. Traction is still great, it really is a whole different machine on that back slope. hard to tell from the video but it is steep! And to make it worse, we have aerobic septic and the sprinklers spray out over that slope, so it's always damp

@@jbreezy3146 this is what I bought, but currently showing not available. there are other brands depending on size. the 20x12 is apparently not as common as 22, so if you have a larger mower you will likely have larger selection on amazon and prob other sites MowerPartsGroup (2) Aggressive Deep Lug Tire Assemblies for Hustler Raptor SD 54 60 20x12.00-10

Does it tear up the yard when making a full 180? My 16 year old cuts the grass and I can just see bald spots coming from these after ever turn

16 year old driver-definitely. 20 year old driver-still probably likely. calm adult being careful-they really aren't bad

I have 22x9.50-10 on my John Deere, will 22x10-10 fit? Or what's your suggestion?

both sizes are rated for a 7 inch wide rim, but the 10-10 will be just a bit wider. I'd think it would work unless you have almost now clearance on the machine for just a bit more sidewall bulge or tiny bit more tread width
