With a manual trans (or a dct) and MHD you can disable the torque limiter shift bog option. This changes your rev limiter to a ignition cut rather than fuel cut, hence the popping. 🙂

Not finished the video yet but your 'D' mode is much faster both up and downshifting compared to my DCT N55. I know what my next mod is going to be! Great video!

I have XHP, so for the fastest shifts you need to be in M mode with traction turned all the way off. If you leave traction control on even in sports mode it is not the fastest shift setting Disable Creep in settings Shift map editor and go to each gear and go +10-15% this will make each gear shift later in D mode if you don’t want it to shift so early into 7th

why is creep setting so bad? Its a useful feature for daily street driving. How does this affect the performance of lets say my m4?

So good man I love this car! That creep doesn't seem right tho should rev up slightly and can feel the clutch engage before moving, can use the shiftpoint editor to move it up to 6800

I have a N55 135i with the 7speed DCT and I have MHDstage one and xHP flash, by far best part of it is the gun shot I get on the one two shift when it revs all the way out

I know supposedly the Torque punch is meant to end up giving the DCt "fart" that people call in the Vag world, but my car already starts popping like it in the track after 3 or 4 laps until I stop running around the track. Its not like I have anything extraordinary in the exhaust or anything, catless downpipes, second cats still in place, rear muffler changed to the M3 one and "performance" modded which basically is just killing 2 of the 4 resonating chambers. Just something I thought I'd mention. Highly anticipating your full impression and review after a while, as I said in other videos your take on things its really good!

Only thing to watch with the creep setting is taking off when facing uphill. It is enabled from factory so the car doesn't roll backwards when taking off facing uphill. With creep disabled, your trans is in neutral, meaning if the car starts to roll backwards, and you take off, you can shock load the driveline. Not a major concern for daily driving, but you wouldn't want to roll back far at a reasonable pace, then nail it.

Another great video Andrew. That launch control feature would be great for drag racing. You certainly need an LSD to experience the full affect of the DCT with xhp. Will your DSS axles fit this diff as you will need those as well as the LSD for reliability.

I have been changing the Torque Reduction and Torque Punch on my M4 with the stage 3 map it does hit very hard just trying to keep it going through the gears faster and keen to go roll racing next time for some fun

Nice… love the Sound 👍🏻 Are you running standard clutch disks or are they upgraded. What did you do with your JB4 when you changed from MSD80 to MSD81? Did you get new maps as they were made for the “old” MSD80? Best

Running the original 195,000klms old clutches. JB4 has only had one setting changed so far and that was for logging 6 cylinder timing. I did get updated versions of the MHD back end flash.

Would you be able to put a M3/M4 DCT control model on your DCT. I know that has no creep feature on until you touch the accelerator pedal.

The max shift RPM isn't exact, there's some extra hysteresis added so you might need to play around with it until you get the right max rpm.

Well with this latest version of xHP stock clutch packs will hold more than I will ever make. Just depends on the condition of these ones.

It definitely wouldnt help. But they wear out on stock cars. So get a new one in and see how long that lasts.

So in order to dct swap my car which i really wanna do my vins 4th-7t digits have to be PM77 mine are VB77 i wonder if thats going to affect it cause i really want to swap the dct into my car but at the same time if i cant get xHP on the car i dont want to waste my time doing the swap

Hmmmmm it might be shooting an email to xHP to be sure. I read they have opened up an option to force a flash on to a car now. So you may be able to get around the vin issues.

Is that a shiftlogic equipped DCT or "just" the basic DCT? I wonder how many LC options you're getting on the non-shiftlogic? RPM only??

It seems I have quietened down again. I’m thinking it was an adaptation issue with the different load the dct puts on the motor. It was basically over boosting. So jb4 took a little while to learn where the east gates need to be sitting

Do you still have that wastegate rattle issue that popped up after that test drive you did?

It seems to have quietened down again. I think the jb4 has had to relearn wastegate adaptations thanks to a different amount of load going through the engine. The rattle appeared after about 20 mins of driving and maybe 15 pulls. So as I have done more it’s readjusted again….. we’ll I think so anyway.

I’m on 158,000km and I don’t have any signs of rattle at all yet so I’m praying mine hang on, I picked the car up for $9500 and it’s had gaskets and injectors and all that jazz done so I’m hoping I just got a good steal!

Hey mate, I've got a 2008 335i DCT and I've been told my mechatronics unit is buggered... Have you got a spare gearbox or a spare mechatronics unit I could buy? Preferably just the mech unit because I'm in the UK... I've got a baby on the way and this is going to cost over £4,500 to fix. The whole car is only worth about £7,000.
