Before this world cup Cesare Maldini, Italy's coach, said that he was willing to give up 5 of his players in exchange for Zidane. Mario Zagallo, Brazil's coach said that if he was allowed to call up any non-Brazilian player to the national team, it would have been Zidane :)

Thanks, great work as always 👏👌. He was CRUCIAL in this WC because this France team was very industrial, basic (even though they had great players), his teammates only needed give a pass to Zizou and he made the difference.

Thanks for the video man! Now we can see how underrated his performance in this quarter-final (as in the whole WC...) was. In 2nd half and extra time, he does everything fine : controls, passes, rushs... and he often put italian defence in crisis! Rare document!

@@ZidaneVideo372 yes. He started the 1998 world cup with a superb performance against South Africa and was playing well against Saudi Arabia before red card. I believe he would have won Adidas golden ball (WC MVP) if he had not been suspended. I think he was 5th in the votes?
