Zidane reached a superhuman level during Euro 2000. He humiliated every team he played against. This was insane performance. But he was even better against Spain.

Durant cette compétition, il était à un niveau stratosphérique. Et au cours de cette rencontre, il a atteint un niveau rarement atteint par un footballeur dans une compétition internationale. Je pense que ce fut le meilleur match que je l'ai vu disputé durant toute sa carrière. Le Zidane de l'Euro 2000 est le meilleur footballeur que j'ai vu jouer avec le Ronaldo Brésilien de la période 1994-1999.

12:18 clear hand ball. It was an excellent call by the linesman and referee. I dont think they get enough credit for making that call in such a intense game with so much at stake....without the aid of TV replays. The media at the time called the decision "controversial" but it's clear that Xavier extended his hand towards the ball, with the clear intention of blocking the cross with his hand. Penalty! Big call! Right call! And yea.....of course....we all know this was a legendary tournament for Zizou...

In the running as one of the best players of all time... was the most pivotal player in France winning the world cup and also winning the European Cup .. so many top players have said he is either the best player they played with or against.
