For those who complain at not being very balanced cause it's a normal vs a subspecies... It isn't that unfair cause of: 1-Zinogre is bulkier 2- Stygian Zinogre is weak to thunder :V However even if I prefer regular I must admitt I think Stygian wins cause he attacks faster, ( as seen in the video ), his ultimate it's even more powerful :V pluuus..., His movements have more range... :V

Well, Stygian's AI also makes it almost always attacks the monster instead of the hunter. It's why most the move homes into the monster more precisely.

Looks like both were evenly matched at first but it looks like Stygian had higher attack speeds and wider range gave it the edge. Also looking forward to the next tournament and subscribed.

Yeah some Subspecies are Sidegrades whit different Elements, other are straight up Improvements. Stygian is designed to be harder Zinogre, not just Dragon Zinogre.

It’s weird seeing them both fight, because I’m someone who has an easier time fighting stygian than normal But now seeing them attacking each other it’s obvious which should be the harder one

Ok damn, Stygian just took the momentum and ran with it from start to finish. So I've gotta ask, why not just use the in game music for this since they already share the same theme? It'd loop a lot smoother than hitting replay on whatever KZfaq video you've got playing in the background.

Pretty amazing how big of a lead Stygian was able to develop considering it has less hp and is weak to thunder. I guess its attack power is simply much higher and it has a more aggressive moveset.

i dont think you'll see this but i think i found a way to fix stygian zinogre! basically he only does his actually cool attacks and charges up if he only senses a hunter/hunters. when he see's a mosnter he only does his tail attack and slams and is too busy to charge up, so if you make it so stygian doesent target the monster at all but instead the hunter he could probably charge up/ do his ultimate attacks like a physo crusher

@Cracstheidiot 69 i am aware of this issue but currently as far as i know there is no way to make it not see the other monster target. Though there are some monster exceptions like Alatreon which are not visible to any monsters therefore Stygian Zinogre can use its entire moveset against it.

if you think, the stygian zynogre it's weak if he battles Electric Zynogre because the lightning it's a weakness of the Stygian Zynogre, but Stygian Zinigre kills Electric Zinigre, that make more epic that reverse card

Before the Fight starts, I say Zinogre wins over Stygian. Stygian rarely charges in the Arena, and his Basemoveset is even more limited then Zinogres, making him to immobile to compete. I doubt elemental Weaknesses work on Monster vs Monster, but Stygian is weak to Thundercon Top of that. 15:00 so you permaraged them? Thats a good Thing, makes the Fight more entertaining. Them charging up can take a while. Fully Charged, Stygian obviously has the Edge, whit all the AoE, and longer Combos. No Surprise hes equal to Elders in the Tempered Ranking. Im personaly glad he won, I don't like Base that much, but Stygian in Iceborne was made quiet fun.

Elements do actually work it’s not not very noticeable unless they are weak to poison as if a monster that’s weak to poison gets poisoned it will deal more damage to it

First of all why does regular Zinogre have more health? Second, Stygian BEAT HIS ASS HOLY. By 6000 health, and if we include him having 1000 less health really it’s actually 7000 hp difference

Poor regular Zinogre, lost to his annoying as fuck cousin. AOE is normally the deciding factor of these fights, so Styigian winning isn't that surprising, he also has way more follow up moves.
