Great review as usual sir. I'm planning ok getting the zoom because of that safe track in 4 channel recording. That feature have saved my life a couple of times! Totally worth it, I believe. Cheers!

2:24 - Actually, the Tascam mics are set in an A/B configuration, not X/Y. Also, you can not set them to 90 or 120 degrees. Maybe you're confusing the Tascam with something like the Zoom H4n which does have X/Y mics and also allows 90 or 120 degrees.

Coming from a OCD nerd overly researching this stuff and focusing on budget. ZoomH2n if you want to mix in surround or binaural with. Tascam has loud preamps. Least practical Go with a phillips audio recorder with the tresmic mic, xlr inputs, voice cancellation for around a 100$

Hi, thank's for your video, I have one question, is it possible to connect on the H2N two external microphone ( stéreo ) ? I ask this question because I haven't two external microphones for to try ,it's for that I ask this question.

Awesome review. For my case I went for the TASCAM DR05X, for cost reason. I just need a decent recorder as my smartphone can't handle loud sound pressure. The audio gets distorted

@ 2:24 you are incorrect sir, they are not X/Y mics, they are A/B pattern, the DR07x, or 22WL gives you X/Y

when you got small memory card. its better to keep them in a transparent nylon bag. less chance to lose

Zoom H2N is not an option since it drops a frame after some minutes, Tascam does not drop, which allows synchronizing properly.

I used to have zoom h2n , got same problem. While recording in about 2-5 minutes, appears text warning said error in 1 or 3 second. When i import the file into DAW , the graph shows error, and the file is damaged in the time when warning text appears.

Sorry but: you’re reviewing audio recorders and your audio is bad to say the least. And secondly you have to find out a lot as you said… ehh Take it as a constructive feedback though 😉 no hard feelings right?
