you should have used a bit of oil to lubricate the rubber components

Oil will destroy brake rubbers, use proper rubber grease, we use Bosch Rubber grease.

Cylinder is too far in, need 1,2mm free play on cable on master cylinder. Also use ATE grease on the inside parts and seals against rust.

Xavier - are you saying the whole master cylinder is too far forward on the frame?

@@zooskifilms the cylinder in the master cylinder, the one that is pushed with small pushrod by lever and cable, should stick out of the master cylinder, 1,2mm to be measured as described in the BMW manual

No inspection of cylinder bore? Often pitted. New seal rings won’t like that!
