Then he almost gets shot again, then he _does_ get shot again (accidentally) by his own friend. It's no wonder he got a bit riled up.

I'm just going to point out that that was a Bretonian (supposedly a noble) who used a gun. I uhh........ I think at this point Bretonia would thank you for killing him very much, if you did. And I *absolutely* expect him still being alive coming back to bite you in the ass (because we know the party's luck). Then again, this is a premade, so they might not have considered the possibility that he might both still be alive *and* have tried to kill a party member.
