Fun Fact: Sanji Actor is so into the character to the point that he decided to do his own stunts and trained Kick Boxing and professional cooking for the sake of being Sanji. Yeah, the Actor is not only Acting as one but he is Sanji

well mainly because Don Krieg got away so Luffy can be the one to defeat him. But since he wasn't needed, he was giving the true screen time and death he deserves. Plus it was a good way to hype up Mihawk for new watchers.

Purposefully sending Mihawk to capture Luffy reminds me of Invincible, when Battle Beast shows up and mops up the Off-Brand Justice League.

They did change a lot of the story however for this show..... 1. Nami wasn't there. Nami Stole the Going Merry and Ditched out before Mihawk Arrived. 2. Mihawk wasn't there to capture Luffy, he was there tracking down Don Krieg when Zoro challenged him. 3. Garp wasn't chasing Luffy down, in fact Garp doesn't even appear until after Luffy enters the Grand Line and mostly he's training Koby. It might have been better if they had Lt. Fullbody chasing him I could keep going but this is what pertains to this episode

I always thought Nami was more like a quartermaster on top of being a navigator, keeping an eye on supplies, money, managing what the crew/ship needs. Different role from first mate, but there in the leadership around the captain. Zoro just fits first mate, being the one Luffy trusts to protect and be there for the crew if Luffy is not there.

Disappointed that they didn't portray Zoro's shock and frustration during the fight. Could've made it more dramatic and meaningful.

They did, they just can't do it as overtly as they did with the anime because internal monologues don't work as well in live action.

@@JLP627 I think Mackenyu delivered Zoro's disappointment and frustrations very well in this scene. Zoro in this live action is clearly different to the Zoro in the manga and anime, in the manga and anime Zoro is alot more comedic & expressive, but in the live action he is alot more stoic and rarely cries or smiles. He still expressed his frustrations and sadness about losing, but he's not overly emotional about it. So for him to show less emotion is very in tune with his character, at least in the live action version.

@iamlinda100 I've been saying the same thing. It's more grounded in realism and they made him more stoic and it works, in general I really like his portrayal of Zoro, its very cool. But I disagree in this scene in particular, I already watched it a few times, and I personally still wish they could have spared a moment of reaction in his eyes. Especially when his attack was blocked by the pocket knife.

just because he didn't cry doesn't mean it's bad, one doesn't have to always cry to show despair and sadness. I think Mackenyu delivered Zoro's disappointment and frustrations very well in this scene. Zoro in this live action is clearly different to the Zoro in the manga and anime, in the manga and anime Zoro is alot more comedic & expressive, but in the live action he is alot more stoic and rarely cries or smiles. Liked Mihawk, but the fight itself was far bellow the anime/manga. The iconic moment of Zoro promising Luffy that the will never lose again was baaad and kinda cringe.
