I think this episode was the start of me just simply watching. Sounds weird, but at the start of it as a fan I felt like I was reviewing the show to see how well they did. At this point moving forward I felt comfortable enough that I could just watch normally as if I were watching any other show.

Great episode. The casting for the actors playing Sanji, Mihawk, Zeff and Gin. I like that the show had Nami in her iconic pink shirt in the Baratie arc. I like that sh*tty restuarant and Zeff calling Sanji eggplant was in the show 😂🤣 The way Mihawk deflect the bullets was a badass moment. I like the changes from manga and anime that Luffy in the manga/anime has to be chore boy because he destroy the top of Baratie. But in this one he has to become chore boy because he couldn't pay the bill. The actor who's playing Usopp is great especially when he's lying 🤣😂 The Zoro vs Mihawk fight was great. I like that they kept Mihawk stabbing Zoro with the small knife as well him blocking Zoro swords with his small knife. Mihawk sowrd (Yoru) looks amazing. The way Zoro chest got cut by Mihawk sword and showing the scar was very well done. And I feel the actor playing Zoro did great with his speech on never losing again. The thwirly brows would've been SO UGLY in live-action, i'm glad they didn't make that, just like Usopp's nose, they're great without that Also, something I liked was that they gave the protagonists more realistic characters, manners etc, it was a GREAT decision for the live-action because it would've been so cringe if Sanji was with girls like he is in the manga or the anime They're more down to earth, and believable as human beings, and that's a good thing, because there are real actors playing in front of the camera and it fits more

In fairness to Garp, you get why he doesn’t want his boys to be criminal pirates where they might end up like Roger, his fears for one of them sadly came true. He probably thought that if they became marines, then the truth of their fathers wouldn’t matter as much since they’d be assets to the marines.

The drinking game was clever, even if he gets it wrong Zoro is still getting info out of her, and of course another reason to for him to drink as a bonus.

I think they pronounce it as Baratié because its like a fine dining esteblishment and seems like Zeff is a fan french cuisine. Also i believe all of sanjis moves are french so it makes sense pronouncing it like that. Of course i could be wrong im just connecting the coincidences.

Just a headsup about the right hand man thing. Oda did a spread for a manga chapter showing all the vice captains / right hand men and Zoro was the center of it. I think that kind of solidifies the fact that he's in that position.

It’s a known fact that zoro is the first mate and right hand man. But not Vice Captain. Sanji has his own sub crew within the crew though. Curly/Swirly Hats. 😊 Stirring the pot😂

I think Sanji missing his twirls is fine. It would probably be a little TOO cartoony for the live action version. They've got the characters looking very much like themselves for the most part, so sacrificing some of the more whimsical parts of their design for the adaptation is fine, I think.

It's almost physically painful for me to see Zoro this weak. No haki, lacking 2 named swords, and having 2 functioning eyes. Makes me appreciate seeing the early parts of the story even more considering how GOAT he is now.

i never knew that there was any questions about who luffy's 1st mate was. isn't it literally the 1st person that the captain teams up with unless he demotes or deranks them? i can see if they questioned who luffy's best friend would be. it's probably gotta be ussop. ussop literally just said it, but also luffy and ussop fought and made up in water 7 just like how best friends do. like sanji's accent. it's weird, it's like they combined a british accent with sanji's 4kids brooklyn accent. i like zeff's actor and accent too. it really made me feel like i was watching an episode of hell's kitchen, and the only way it could have been better was if they actually casted gordon ramsay to play him. as far as mihawk, the actor's cool, but he just doesn't seem like mihawk to me besides how he looks. mainly because of his accent and demeanor. i always thought mihawk would have a spanish accent like the 4kids dub. lol they could have gotten antonio banderas to play him, then it would have been zorro vs zoro. or they could have went with a french or romanian accent. that fits too. as far as the way he acts, anime mihawk always looks unbothered or nothing affects him, like android 16 from dragonball z, but this mihawk reminded me of android 17 or jotaro jostar, where everything minorly bothers them like "yare yare deze". i really liked baratie being like a night club at nite. that's cool. lol
