Zverev DID Medvedev DIRTY

In this video I go over the recent netflix tennis documentary Break Point that featured Alexander Zverev in episode 4. In this episode it paints Zverev as the hero and Medvedev as the villain, despite the fact that Zverev has controversy surrounding his own situation. Was this a mistake on the part of the ATP and WTA?

The shows portrayal was completely lopsided, Medvedev may engage in some pretty underhanded tactics on court but off the court he,s a really nice guy, who most tennis fans like. Zverev on the other hand even you if you dismiss the accusations, is constantly exploding on court and is the most arrogant player I’ve ever seen. Let’s be real the only reason Medvedev was portrayed that way is because he,s Russian, if he was Australian or American no one would care.

I agree with you! Also the reason that he's Russian came to my head, but Zverev is also Russian, so surely it can't be that, right? Regardless Djokovic and Medvedev have two things in common: being Slavic and being relentlessly booed at US open (and others) and feeding off of that energy.

I couldn't watch the show after the first season. Tennis players work really hard to play tennis and they're all narcissists to a certain extent. So watching people who are filthy rich and gifted, whine and complain about how tough it is for them is pretty lame. That's like that time that Tennis Channel tried to give lleyton Hewitt his own reality show. Look everybody theyre just like us. Because of how skilled they are everybody gives them whatever they want and half of them were Rich before they ever came onto this planet.

Medvedev may be a bit of a dick sometimes but as far as I can tell he's done nothing on the same calibre that Zverev has. Where Medvedev merely antagonises umpires, Zverev went so far as to attempt to almost take a chair umpire's feet off in an act of intimidation after a correct call he didn't like. (Using this as an example over the allegations because in spite of substantial evidence backing them it's not going to be concrete until May, when he's set to stand trial, but Meddy also seems to treat his wife and daughter very well, especially compared to what Zverev is alleged of).

@@vernonfrance2974 Exactly. The first accuser is obviously mentally unstable. She admitted she twice injected herself with his insulin and begged twice for him to take her back. He was not the one that tried to prevent her from dumping him. It was the opposite. His father had to tell her to leave him alone. ATP did a more than a year long investigation with a third party investigation firm and found there was insufficient evidence to support her claims. That is why she went to a known disreputable sensationalist reporter instead of the police.She is likely just very bitter and vengeful because she could not keep him. The second one is narcissistic and exploited her pregnancy online to get all the attention she could. She is probably bitter that he did not marry her when she was pregnant or just wants more money. We will find out at the trial. He could have paid a fine like Nick Kyrgios who admitted he shoved his girlfriend but instead requested a trial to have evidence weighed. His lawyer said they have medical evidence that will be shown at trial that will prove her allegations are not true. We will find out at the trial. Further to note Zverez current girlfriend has stayed with and traveled with him for almost 3 years and has completely publicly supported him. Why would she stay with him that long if he was so abusive? She is a successful model and actress and clearly an independent woman who does not need to stay that long in abusive relationship.

He has won four matches at the Australian Open this year and now faces Carlos Alcaraz. That would indicate he is a very good tennis player, wouldn't it? You use the term "agly" to describe him. I looked it up and the dictionary states it is usually "agley." Here is an example of how that word is best known: "The best-laid schemes o' mice an' men gang aft agley." It famously appears in the poem by Robert Burns in the poem, "Of Mice and Men." There it t means astray. Anyway, what do you mean to say when you say Zverev is "agly?"

That episode and part really stuck out to me. Most people who's played tennis would be able to relate to someone who plays dirty like Medvedev. All that background and history with Zverev is irrelevant in this case and incident. When you're on the tennis court, all that gets brushed aside and its man with racket versus man with racket. Besides Zverev is one of the stars of the show, do you think he would've agreed to star in the show if Netflix was going to dig into his past wrongdoings? They did it for Beckham's documentary (cheating incident) but ever so briefly only amongst the 4 episodes/hours. What Medvedev did was dirty. Zverev had two games to serve out the match. With Zverev's serve, it really would've been a match closer IF his opponent didn't play mind games with him and get into his head. You think Medvedev didnt know what he was doing? He admitted to his tactics in the show. It's a gray area which is legal but frowned upon amongst tennis players on tennis etiquette. But Medvedev is that kinda person perpetuating the Russian villain in movies. Seeing Zverev kneeling down crying, every competitive tennis player could relate to when they lose against someone they know damn well they should've won. It's one of those moments where a bit of your innocence gets chipped away for good and the world becomes more bleak.

"Someone who plays dirty like Medvedev" "All that background and history with Zverev is irrelevant in this case and incident" The Netflix episode that seemingly depicted Medvedev as a villain, which I believe is an inaccurate portrayal. On the contrary, Zverev's history appears to be more relevant in this context. As you may be aware and the clip shows, in 2022, Alexander received the most severe punishment from the ATP for his shocking attack on the umpire chair during the Mexican Open and certain off-court issues. Alexander Zverev is known for his rude behavior and considerable ego. On the other hand, Daniil Medvedev, who may have had some past concerns regarding previous behavior has consistently been regarded as one of the most well-liked players both on and off the court. [If Zverev was affected by the tactics employed by Medvedev during the game/match, I believe it is important for Zverev’s team to address this issue and provide the necessary support to ensure Zverev’s mental resilience] Additionally, I wanted to share an observation regarding the head-to-head matches between both players in 2023. Medvedev emerged as the winner in five out of six matches, with the last two victories going to Medvedev in straight sets.
@MeLikeTennis
@MeLikeTennis 4 ай бұрын
@joelmvdqp hardly an argument. That bashing of the umpire chair comes AFTER the conclusion of the match, therefore an outscome/result has been determined ALREADY, so no gamesmanship was employed to affect the opponents DURING the match. Medvedev uses various ways DURING the match to distract his opponents. That's different. Everyone knows closing our a match is hard enough as it is with nerves in the way, let alone Medvedev playing his mind games and delays with you.

Medvedev is really a lowbred, underbred and unabashed person with his disposition. Russian player loves provoking everyone, swearing the chair umpires, insulting the supporters and aficionados. I always reckon on the candour and genialty of Alexander Zverev with his statements. Zverev had clarified the austere remarks and comments during the press conferences and social media concerning the selfhood of Medvedev. I always deliver a large support to Zverev with his posture.
