Now that’s some deep blues from Billy Gibbons! This is a whole other side of ZZ Top that not everyone is aware of. They could play the blues with the best of them for sure.

Those of us who grew up in SE Texas did. I say that because for the first few albums they were more of a Texas regional band. The rest of the world did not yet know what they were missing.

Have seen them live in 1986 when I was 11, my first ever live performance, I will never forget that one, on my dad shoulders watching ZZ top live!! Even then I liked their early stuff the most, I think my parents taught me to listen to real music, still grateful for that! Now at 45 I still let the neighbours listen to ZZ Top and let them enjoy that little old band from Texas. ZZ still rocks today!

Zwerker My man! Lagavulan is mighty fine as well. Quarter cask Laphroiag is my choice though. And not that expensive if you’re a careful shopper. This one goes way way down deep way way back...the 1950's...60's.....working it to stay alive...dirty..oily....gas splashed blue jeans...low pay...old ride you fixed up...Truck..motorcycle or car.. to carry you to work and maybe bring a woman close enough to give you a try...Your wearing the hat my brother loved and was buried with and his ZZ top tape...Your doing a great job..Thank you..

You need to get into the classic 12 bar blues artists: john lee hooker, muddy waters, bo diddley, and howlin wolf. These are THE blues giants that the rockers like zz top were emulating.

The first time I heard this song it was an 8 track, in 1975, out in the Mojave Desert at night. I was a 17 year old Marine. I had the same EXACT spiritual reaction that you did, my friend. I LOVE seeing you hear some of the music that changed my life. Keep the videos coming. Much love, brother!!!

Man, I gotta tell ya. I was introduced to this song about 35 years ago by my aunt who was bound to a wheelchair. Having never heard the song before, I reacted almost exactly the way you are reacting to it now. Love it ! And so thankful to my aunt for introducing me to some real deep blues that has had a lifelong impression !
