In 1974 I was 14 and had worked all year after school and weekends to buy $900 bucks worth of Pioneer home stereo. My brother came home on leave from the Navy and put an LP from a group I'd never heard of on the platter and cranked it up, it was "Tres Hombres," 💥 mind blown! RIP Dusty 😢

Frank is one of the best drummers in the world. The way he unites and cements ZZ Top music is simply a standard of perfection. He is one of the 3 drummers I know who play music, not beat rhythm. He's been - you do not need to hit a thousands beat a second to be the great musician.

I couldn't agree more, Stuart. I'm so glad Elwood has become their new bass player. Now they need to maybe cut back on RIP'ing Dusty, God rest his soul, and start giving Elwood equal space on the band's new promo posters. They won't take that important bold step forward until they do that.

That "little ol' band from Texas" is nothing short of incomparable, without a doubt. There's just something so magical about how these three guys manage to create legendary cuts every single time they step into a studio. Their music will echo down through the centuries to hold future generations enthralled, mesmerised and spellbound, thanks to modern media and their "always in the pocket" grooves. Dusty is (and will continue to be) dearly missed by all of us diehard fans, but I'm glad to see that Rev Willy G and Frank have found a way to soldier on without him, and keep moving forward. I wish them all the best and every possible success, because they deserve it... they're literally the only band of their kind that's still together and making great music over more than 50 years. To be honest, I owe Willy, Dusty and Frank a colossal debt. They helped me to grow, both as a musician and a man, and I will keep on singing their praises just as long as I can play a guitar and draw a breath. Thanks for over half a century of amazing music, spiritual guidance and growth. ZZ Top rules, forever!♥️

And with this song.... you don't need to even watch the video to know right from the first bar of the beginning riff that its damn right its a ZZTOP song. ZZ is just impossible to describe. A trio of master rockers. Billy F. Gibbons is about the most tasty player you will ever hear. Others with that kind of taste are Joe Walsh and Jeff Beck. They never blow you away with speed, they just hit every note with perfect attack and feel. Frank is the perfect pocket drummer and Dusty is one mean bass playing, gravel voiced bad-ass! I cannot believe that I have never seen them live. How did I miss them on tour?? I will give myself a swift kick in the ass about now.

I can‘t say, how I miss Dusty. He is the epiptome of a bassist and my great Idol.

RIP Dusty.. so good to hear that growl again, sounding like a John Entwistle of the blues

I remember you guys from the 80's. One of my favorite bands. I used to play your stuff extremely loud.! I still do. I'm 53 now. Still badass shit!!!

Sure Missed Dusty Last Friday Night, but Dang What a Show we saw... Totally Rocked the Crowd. Kenny Wayne Sheppard and his band was on fire too. Great times were had by all. Thank you Guys for all the years!

Maybe ZZ Top's best song. Lyrically, I think it is the best.

"I was rollin' down the road in my V8 Ford..." Ah, the memories of this song pumping through the 8 track player of my Mach 1 Mustang. Seventeen years old and on top of the world.

I've been a fan of "The Texas Trio" since the 80s (I was 14 in 1984 when Eliminator came out). This is one of my favorites! R.I.P. Dusty Hill! You are sorely missed already! Also, I don't care what anybody says..."I got a gal, she lives on the hill, she won't do it but her sister will" has got to be THE most famous lyric in music history!
