I've watched like 20 shorts and a handful of longer videos and the vast majority of them were not worth watching either because of the quality of the video production and it they were morons. I'm happy to say your videos were full of good tips, many of the tips were in other videos but the like I said bad quality videos or the installer was annoying. Wish I would of watched you sooner cause I'm about to go to ChinaDepot to get some tools one of which I'm sure will be inferior to your plank hammer. Anyhow Blesskngs back to you brother. I hope you and yours are doing well and situated well to weather the coming storm. Sadly I say its gonna get worse before it gets worse. Not even sure about the rest of your content but I subscribed anyway 👍🏻

I've been planning to install VPF in a bathroom and adjacent dressing room with lots of cramped areas and turns, so need all the advice I can get. Thanks for all the nit-picky advice. I know success is in the details.

Been a while, BUT I will circle back with you Joe to share pictures and facts about the project, but it went well and a lot of that had to do with Joe and his mentoring solution.. If you have a big job and want to do it well then it is worth the money to include Joe.. If you are on a really tight budget Joe gives you the skills here to do a good job, But it is worth it to have him to ensure the outcome. Not like you can erase and start all over again. At least not cheaper than Joe's mentoring This is NOT A PAID AD. WE PAID FOR JOE'S VALUABLE SERVICE AND ARE HAPPY WE DID. i JUST HAPPENED TO SEE HIS KZfaq VIDEO TODAY SO I THOUGHT I WOULD SAY HI,

Love the video and the speed of them. Although, I'm not sure I would want a contractor putting holes in my wood floor to lay new laminate flooring down.

Your tongue and groove terms are backwards. The lip that sticks out is the tongue and the slot is the groove. Given that, we can try to keep up with the description and change them in our head as you go along but geeze that is a lot of pausing to reverse your instruction.

So how did the plank go together going through the door way ? You can’t tip it up at an angle ?

What determined where you snapped your chalk line?

I love your guides and tips Joe, you explain processes extremely well. Much appreciated! Starting line for my project is the one that is making me nervous - because opposite my preferred starting wall, I have a stair going down (so essentially that main floor is a giant 'landing' level and needs a stair nosing strip to finish it). Between this video and the one from about a year ago (measuring from door transition back to the starting point) that will give me good confidence to start it in the right location. It's a very wide section, so the 10 plank trick is essential to get the layout width exact. I'm a convert to Flooret after seeing your reviews on their products, but important to note their stated width on Silvan spec sheet is NOT correct, so measuring 10 planks is definitely good way to go for anyone. I'm planning to give myself an extra 1/4" over, since it HAS to overhang the edge - It can be long but absolutely cannot be short! :)

Used your videos before starting my own project. I watched every video. I used your method with the screw down pieces, glue down on concrete and your cheater board. It couldn't have worked out better. My finishing row was within an eighth of an inch on a 30 foot span. All the 45 degrees worked out mint. It was perfectly squared to the house and I can't thank you enough. I wish I could share pictures because it turned out epic. Now I am going to start my own sude hustle 💪

Joe, your channel is by far the best I have viewed on flooring. Also, and possibly even more important, when you humbly but boldly profess faith and pray for us, that is powerful. You are being a light in this world, a world that needs men like you showing others the way…you are a blessing in many ways to many people. You inspire me brother. Thank you!

I have a situation where I will be laying the flooring in a large rom but there are areas that are connected such as closets and a bathroom. How do I start? Can I establish the line in the main room and work in both directions from there?

You'd think with all the new cordless tool technology out there, someone would have come up with a "power" cutter. At the end of the day, it would save a lot of spent energy.

About a year ago, I contacted Flooret and obtained the Silvan sample pack, and used your coupon code. I had to put off ordering my flooring due to other commitments, but now I'm going forward, and I want to use Silvan. I'm installing in a bedroom 10 x 13 with a closet. The manufacturer says not to install cabinets on top of the flooring as it will hinder expansion / contraction. I do not plan to do that, but what about closet door hardware? I plan to use sliding doors with the wheels on the top and just a small guide at the bottom, so there will not be a long bottom track. Have you dealt with this before and, if so, do you use screws to secure the plastic guide through the finished floor into the subfloor?

This is my first time watching you. I’ve installed well over 10,000 floors of every kind. To everyone watching there’s big differences in where you start depending on if you’re doing the whole house vs a room. It appeared in the intro part he was doing the planks the short way down a hallway-i hope that isn’t how he does it and maybe that wasn’t a hallway and it was a closet. I’ve have to watch more of these videos to get a better idea. Yeah it’s important to measure out the room to see where it all lands and if the room is close to square or not for future problems but to leave a tiny strip when you first walk in a door isn’t appealing to the eye. Installing flooring isn’t about having and even piece on each side. Customers in the houses i work in would throw you out here in Florida. You lay the floor to the eye pleasing not to have even pieces. If you tile a small bathroom you want full tiles in the part you walk in and the cut pieces under/behind your toilet and vanity. You wouldn’t eat a tiny piece on each side of bathroom. And if using large tile you’d want that right in the middle of the walking area and standing area of the bathroom so not to leave your customer walking or getting ready and standing on a grout line. There’s alot that goes into what is functional and looks pleasing to the eye-it isn’t about even little pieces on both ends and if you are transitioning into a hallway don’t lay your tiles the short way unless there is a rare occasion that it has to be done. You can do that into a walk-in closet but not the hallway. I’m not beating on this guy because i have to watch some videos first but I’m getting a bad feeling with this one and the difference makes your job look very professional vs a homeowner or house flipper did it. Once you’ve worked in multi million dollar homes you can see the difference of how flooring installed to please the eye makes all the difference over looking cheap. I see contractors screw this up all the time and I’m embarrassed for them-with floors and walls. You wouldn’t do this in a shower wall either-you want to hide the cut tiles so they’re not in focal point range. I’m a custom contractor so these details mean a lot. I’ll check him out though and see how his brain works for what he sees in a job and where he starts.

Hi! New to the channel, and I am loving it! I am learning a lot since I plan to replace my floors with LVP. So I have a BIG BIG question. I have tile floors and really don’t want to remove them. And using a self leveler scares me! Do I need to use a self leveler if I am use pads under the LVP? And I am doing it myself! Yeah! Scary! lol. Thanks in advance

Hello Joe, thanks so much for all your effort in putting together these straight forward easy to understand videos you have been putting out, (I've been following for sometime). Quick question for you, - do you think it's better to take down high spots or fill & level low spots ? I did watch your videos about using filler (feather light I think ) ...also due to watching your videos on which are the best vinyl planks out there I've decided to go with the Flooret Modin line. Thanks again. PS ~ I'm doing about 1400 sq ft in a new build.

Great tutorial. Wish I had watched this one before I did a poor installation where gaps magnified and flooring didn't lock together well. Might take it up and start over. Other videos just showed the basic cheap spacers against longest wall, and that was a mistake for my situation.
