if you don't mind me asking, why didn't you just build out a wall with 2x4's and then not drill into cement?
@theredtruckwoodshop272227 күн бұрын
2 reasons. 1 I would have lost space & 2. I wanted the concrete for durability (I didn’t want to worry about damaging Sheetrock.)

Nice design. A shame to use it as a cutting board. The knives will destroy it. Better as a charcuterie serving board.

Beautiful board! I really like the pattern of it! The only thing I have to ask is that you please not use gloves around the power tools, the blade will catch on the fabric and actually pull you further into the blade, making the accident worse

I’m considering that seriously after watching some other videos.

Hals Wood Shop. Shopsmith owner 30 years...3rd Shopsmith...thats a story....But you have become a Master of the Bent Wood Design. I enjoy each of the episodes and am envious. its time I give it a try in my small shop. Your remodel and dust collection were very interesting since I am now in a shed shop here in Arizona. Also you don't have such a deluxe workbench but the practical worktable should show us that an assembly table is worthwhile. Best Wishes in 2024. Thanks.

Thanks for the kind words. I’m glad I have inspired you. My shop is kind of small and I still dream of a nicer work table/bench. It’s hard to justify anything more when what I have works for me. I hope to do more and have a larger shop in a few years.

Not sure what this has to do with the video. I walk to work every day……. Up the stairs to my home office or down the stairs to my shop :)

You don't have a jointer, so the disk, & that was close. Why didn't it work?
@theredtruckwoodshop27227 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comments but I’m not sure I understand the questions. Are you asking why didn’t the sander method work? It mostly did but just wasn’t perfect. I would have liked to use the jointer but my work piece was larger than my jointer capacity.

Many years ago I decided to apply tung oil with my bare hands. Never saw anyone else do that and today I see this video and I am so happy to see someone else do that. Your technique is wonderful. I'll be experimenting with some ways of making a kerf that's not as ragged as a band saw - perhaps a very small diameter router bit. Thank you very much.

It may be unique, but it is not 'very unique'. Unique is an absolute, and does not take qualifiers. It may just be the camera angle, but it does not look square- did you use a level?
@theredtruckwoodshop272210 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. It must be the camera angle. I used a level.

Hey y'all, what a fun project. I have some pieces of live edge black walnut in the garage. I think I could have enough wood to do something similar. I really enjoyed you having your lovely assistant Molly working with you. I did love the simple elegant design very sleek. I liked the process and the finish y'all did a mighty fine job. How nice to build a project with a significant purpose. I really loved the symbolism of how Molly carried the cross out the door. Thank you for this video today. God bless y'all take care, Steven

Great job! I’ve found the best way to get the piece out of the hole saw is to throw the stupid thing against the floor repeatedly until it pops out 😂. But, if you do find a trick to it, please make a video showing us.

lol, I enjoyed your pocket hole joke! Doing some research, and like your configuration. Any idea what the experts would say "too close" to the ceiling is?
@theredtruckwoodshop2722 Жыл бұрын
Thanks. I’m not sure. I just guessed. While I am an engineer, I design structures not airflow. That being said, I would say you need the same amount of square inches for good air flow. That is, if the fan is 20” x 20” = 400 square inches. So then if the gap between the ceiling and the fan is 10” and 20” on each side, I would have (20”+20”) x 10” = 400 square inches.
