I came here from hearing you on Tom Scott's Lateral. I'm happy to see you're on Nebula! There's lots of good stuff on there. I went ahead and got the $300 lifetime membership. I don't know if that was discounted but I did it from your link so hopefully you'll get lots of credit for that. :) Regarding this video, I learned a ton! I was already aware of the principles, but not the specifics and had a lot of "wow!" moments. Also, A. Whitney Brown once said on SNL, "If you're a one in a million kind of person, there's over a thousand of you in China." It's counter-intuitive because we don't interact with entire countries, or even whole US states, but Earth is enormous. A friend of mine has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, type 3, hypermobility. Last I heard it was thought to affect one in ten thousand people, but if that's accurate, that's nearly a million people across the planet. Big numbers are surprising!

I saw a video of a homeless man scratching his own skull with a knife. He acted like he felt itchy too. I wonder if he was experiencing something similar. I don't want to share a link because youtube tends to automatically delete comments with links but the video was recorded by a man speaking Spanish. The guy recording might have been a cab driver since they're very near a parked cab. I think it happened in Mexico. A few square inches of fairly clean scalp is shown spanning from the right half of his forehead up well past what would otherwise be his hair line. It is subtle but it looks like there are a few flies also near the open wound. That should be enough detail to recognize it when you see it.

This video got me to say out loud "I'm in this picture and I don't like it". I love living in the US where every day I get to learn about a cool new way the government ruined my life before I was even born. Either way, tasty video, thank you for your hard work.

I was pleasantly surprised with the availability of fresh, tasty food at many neighbourhood stores when we recently visited London. To your point about the difficulty to find affordable good food in the US, I quickly took to stopping at M&S, Sainsbury, or Tessco on my way back to our room at the end of every day. Super convenient and makes the need for extended shelf life less an issue. Also, fresh fruits and vegetables where I live in the US are more expensive than heavily processed ready-to-eat foods. The mindset matters but the budget constraints are real.

Since I live in a country where cannabis is very illegal, i have only done selfstudys during vacations in places with a more relaxed attitude. I definitely found benefits on my migraine and I found an Indica that made me sleep like a baby. I really don't like to get high ( I rarely even drink alcohol), but I can live with that side-effect, so in Amsterdam I tried my best to buy the stuff that wasn't crazy-high in THC but about 50/50 THC/CBD and it seemed to work best for me. I didn't need any of my antiinflammatory meds, even though I walked and was more physically active then at home, and that usually makes it worse, so my conclution is: more studys are needed, both by me, and by scientists. I would very much like to find a strain that works and gives very little high, and then be able to grow it myself in small quantitys, if that is by decriminalizing or legalizing or a medical licence, it doesnt really matter to me

tasty information :) just read the UPF people book you've referenced, it was very eye-opening. since i've read the book, i've made a conscious effort to turn to healthier desserts made from scratch, such as dark chocolate, dates, fruits, yoghurt, and really experimenting with turning those items into something delicious. after just 1 month of this, i've discovered that not only can i eat more dessert for the same calories i would previously consume a small serving of UPF dessert, i also can't stand the UPF desserts anymore! they are absolutely flavourless, which is something chris van tulleken talks about in his book. once you start analysing UPF food, you realise just how bland and lacking in flavour profile it is.

I believe that we should discourage invasive medical intervention on infants for purely cosmetic reasons. I wonder, are there any cases where early medical intervention can allow for fertility in an individual with a sexual development abnormality? If so, that might be the exception.
