Hi! After switching on my 100D (~15-20 minutes after being switched off), it only takes a completely white picture. It doesn't matter if you save as raw or jpeg. I tried several lenses and sd cards. I adjusted all the parameters and updated the software. It does this in all modes until I switch to live view. Then suddenly it will be good and then it works perfectly while I use it, but after ~15-20 minutes of inactivity it is bad again. Then I have to switch off-on, than to live view again and then back. I can't imagine what the problem could be, where should I go, what should I check first?

This is awesome, it's close enough to my T3i model. I have a bad habit of leaving the SD card in the slot, even when not in use. I'm assuming, over time, that is now a "no no" as I fired mine up after about 2 years of the SD card being in it and when I tried to remove it to throw in my laptop, it gave me trouble getting it out. It took a little force after the eject mechanism but it still gave me an issue getting it out. A piece of the corner from the SD card was cracked and created an obstruction. When I finally got it out, I learned that it bent the contact pin for the write protect lock and no matter what I tried, even though 6 different SD cards, didn't have the write protect lock enabled, it still would not read the card. Just ordered my SD card board and when it arrives, time to go to work :D

Fantastic but completely skipped the part I was interested in: the AF sensor and adjustment mechanism behind the mirror.

Hello there, I noticed you mentioned the dc/dc board may need repair/replacement, are you able to provide the picture again where I can measure the board with a multimeter so I can test? Reason being that I have a 5Dii that will not respond to any buttons. Power switch will no response, cannot turn on/off. If I change the switch to on/set then insert the battery, it will power up the rear screen but not the top screen. The rear screen also has a faint overlap of 2 different menus which makes me think there may be a short somewhere. If i use something to hold down the battery door switch along with setting the power switch to on/set and then insert the battery, I will get the initial date setting screen, but again, no buttons would respond. I have changed the internal button cell and also opened up the rear cover and checked the ribbon cables, all attached and no damages, so I suspect it may be the dc/dc board? Thank you in advance!

Hi @CameraRestore, just one question, please, if you see it, that is. If not, no worries! One of my D700 (SN 24), anytime we put it OFF, will loose some settings, will come alive always with "P", as Program, and the shutter count returns always to zero (0). It holds the time / date. One don't even has to take out the battery, simple putting it from ON to OFF and if again, ON, will happen. Any idea, please? Main condenser, PCB...??? Very cool video. My 100D keeps freezing when ever I switch from viewfinder to view the subject on the touch screen. Or even if I just view an image that I have taken on the screen. I have to remove the battery to reset the camera then it works again. But if I just switch it on, I can use and make changes to the settings pages using the touch screen. Could this be an internal memory issue? The EOS D100 is EOL now and Canon South Africa say they do not support it and cannot repair it as they have no parts available. PLEASE HELP.

Nothing lights up, power switch seems fine, no physical damage anywhere, and I have voltage throughout the whole camera. But nothing turns on. While searching the internet for answers I keep coming across a chip with "M04" written on it. Do you know anything about this chip? What it does or how to test it?

I would LOVE to see a video on replacing the viewfinder assembly on a Canon 5D Mark IV or similar. My viewfinder glass broke and I don't want to pay $600 at Canon to repair it.

Does anyone know if the rear element can be removed for cleaning with just those three rear screws after the PCB is out, or do all those screws he removes with aperture etc have to be removed first? EDIT: yup you can just take it out.
