My son, who I still love, cut off all contact without any explanation, years ago -- this is similar to what his dad did to me before abandoning our family. Guess they really do share bad genes.

I'm not putting up with nonsense from my grown up daughter anymore. I am done with her. I decided this today when she called to tell me not to whassap funny animal video's anymore 😂..unbelievable. I sent it to make her laugh but everything I do is annoying and irritating to her, she pisses me off something terrible but I have stuck it out but today was the final straw. I'm going to move a few hundred miles away so I don't have to see her very often again or hopefully maybe never. I am so done .

“The best way to rid yourself of the feeling of that is _” ??? Why are we trying to rid ourselves of the feeling of this? How about looking introspectively and deciding if we really were bad parents? Yeah, that’s uncomfortable. Turns out life isn’t comfortable. Narcissists love comfort though, so I get it

I divorced my husband of 17 years after he invited his 41-year-old son who is chronically unemployed and was on house arrest for his 3rd drug felony to move in with us. Unfortunately, my husband ignored my strong stand against him moving in was ignored! I was just the stepmom, but I’ve been in PTSD therapy for two years. Let me say, though, his son’s toxicity was a symptom of my husband and my toxic relationship.

If your child doesn't want to talk to you you must assume it's for a valid reason. Whether they were manipulated or not it's 100% because they didn't feel seen enough growing up and there's something you need to work on in yourself.

I just found that they could never tell us what we were doing wrong for them to set boundaries, they keeps adding then changing them as we go, moving the goalposts and the rules. at times I feel they are more like rules and control than boundries.

Just found out my formerly close daughter has flipped her values. She even attacks our deepest Christian beliefs to our faces. We have told her and shown her we love her the same. But she demands we approve and participate in her ideologies-or no relationship. Hoping she will mature.

My adult daughter lived with us and she asked me for help co-parenting with my granddaughter. Now that I set boundaries and gave consequences for my daughter's bad behavior she is withholding my granddaughter. This is not devastating to me but to the child because Iwas her second mom She lived me with me and now everything she knows is gone.

Do not initiate contact. Pray, instead. Do not block all contact from the adult child, just dont initiate contact. Do not reply to 'unkind' contact. Do not allow spontantaneous home visits. Do not visit except in public spaces. The adult child must earn your willingness to 'disarm' your 'defenses' against their hostility. They shouldnt have to earn your love, but neither should they receive a trust they haven't yet earned.

What to do with a toxic brother who doesn't respect anyone in the family, makes everyone behave less according to himself and is doing bad work himself, is losing money and is taking away the things that his parents have earned.

I think she love any kind of hustle... She has a hustler mentality.... Test it... I didn't realize that she definitely gets it from her daddy.... That fasaude is just like her daddy.... You know that's what they say,,, sons are for the mom and girls are for their dad's... Always notice the other siblings as well.... Do they scheme or something or not

I am shocked beyond belief about the amount of disrespect I face from my only daughter. I never even scolded her and brought her up with so much love attention and respect. I sacrificed my own life and happiness to be present for her always, she knows and accepts that but now that she is 34 she treats me as if I am a dumb fool. Talks to me so rudely. It breaks my heart.
