It wasn’t too bad considering the fluid was BLACK, and the thermostat was corroded into the housing. I removed about 2.5-3” of sedement/ sludge from the over flow. I don’t think the coolant has ever been flushed or changed. 🤦🏻♂️ I’m dropping in a new radiator and all new hoses, thermostat and housing. The headset core seemed to have flushed out nice🙄 the only thing that I’m unsure on is how to install/fill this radiator. It is a fluidyne capless / sealed rad. Any ideas?

Two things I don't like about those blocks: They eliminate any proportioning between front and rear. So the overall braking is going to be limited because the rear will lock up first. And they just hang on the lines with no support anywhere. With all the vibration that's just begging for a fatigue failure in those brake lines. But I think I'm about to put one on my '99 GT because the ABS module is leaking. This would be an acceptable short-term fix until I can properly redo the lines and add a proportioning valve.
@jakeb5932 жыл бұрын
I use this car specifically for drifting/track use. I have not noticed any adverse or undesired affects during braking, and I am driving the car quite hard. The weight of the aluminum block is so light, I can't really see it causing any fatigue issues on the hard lines. At least not in the foreseeable future. Having said all that, I do want to get rid of the hydroboost system completely and swap to a willwood manual master cylinder setup.
@johnterpack39402 жыл бұрын
@@jakeb593 I was wrong about the proportioning. There is a separate proportioning valve under the master cylinder. I thought it was in the ABS unit. Fatigue is a funny thing. Weight is less important than vibration. I would run the block. But only until I could manage to reroute the lines directly to the proportioning valve.

Did u ever figure it out. I got 90 gt put ne water pump on and it still leaks.
@jakeb5932 жыл бұрын
Yes, the head bolts on the backing plate were too thick and didn't let the pump mount flush against the motor
@HD24680Ай бұрын
Actually, your leak wasn’t coming from the water pump. Replacing it was a waste of time. Your leak was coming from the timing chain cover gasket that had failed behind the pump. Very common problem with these fox body mustangs. The repair includes completely removing the timing chain cover after removing the water pump. Involves removing the harmonic balancer as well. Doable, with the right tools. And a suggestion for next time. When you pull the water pump bolts out, make some kind of note as to which hole they came out of. They are all different sizes.

My ‘03 Mach 1 ABS control module is bad. Do you think it’s possible to replace just the module without removing the entire pump assembly? If I remove the three bracket bolts/bracket, do you think I could access the four Torx screws to replace the module without cracking open the brake lines?
@jakeb5933 жыл бұрын
I personally have never tried to pull the module from the assembly. If you are able to get it dropped down far enough (which I think will be difficult due to the metal lines and the bracket that it sits in) and could access all the torx bolts then I'd say yes you could. However I dont know how the module interfaces with the pump.
@DeveryAndrews3 жыл бұрын
@@jakeb593 Thxs...I’ve seen videos where it easily separates after removing the 4 Torx screws. I was thinking if I remove the 3 bracket bolts from the frame, I can get enough clearance to loosen the forward nut that holds the assembly in the bracket, remove the bracket and be able to get to those 4 screws. If it doesn’t work I may get the delete block.
