I was an overachiever in high school. All my classes were advanced placement, I was in a couple after school clubs, and marching band (marching band practice started at 6am which meant i had to wake up at around 4:30am every day) To say I was stressed out is an understatement! I was a tightly wound ball of anxiety, and I was barely keeping my head above water with the overuse of melatonin at night and caffeine in the morning. A buddy of mine one day suggested I try some weed (to help me chill the eff out 😅) and it completely changed my ability to handle the stress. I was sleeping better, my appetite came back, and I felt like I was finally having fun as a kid. I went from barely passing my classes, to surpassing a great deal of my peers. I graduated in the top 10 percent of my class; It saved my high school career. Obviously, this is anecdotal and isn't the same experience for everyone, but I just wanted to share.

A really good book to read who describes the communist system in the USSR is 'The Black Book of Communism'. I can't say if I could have survived being sent to a Gulag or not.
