Hey friend just wanted to let you know I think that this channel is really interesting I look forward to following your build progress and all the informative things that you have to share! My project is a 1999 Mazda miata umm I am going to be putting in a rocketeer V6, active aerodynamics particularly in the spoiler underbody aerodynamics and heavily work on suspension. I look forward to learning as much information as I can particularly about aerodynamics and suspension as possible and I hope to see some amazing videos!

Riding height is not adjusted on the coilover ring, its on the pushrod. Coilovers are set at full drop and typical 1mm of tension from the point the spring is locked,,,

Congratulations on achieving your goal of owning a Race Car. Remember, a Race Car, Boat or even an airplane is a Deep Hole into which you will throw 'Buckets of Money' LOL

Being american really warps your sense of scale. I've had coworkers leave the shop at around 5 pm to head on a 6 hour drive to pick up an engine for a car/bike they were working on and didn't even really think much of it. Half the time a friend or someone else from the shop would go with just for fun and the chance to help install the part when they got back.

That yellow car has a MONOPOSTO RACING CLUB sticker on it. Which means it must’ve competed in the uk. Crazy!!! We’re all over the world!

You should have just learned toe/pad heal brake with your right foot...it just takes practice...would have opened up all the non motorcycle drivetrain cars.

Hi Michael. Just discovered your channel due to a thumbnail that came up on KZfaq. I own Tom’s race car he had before yours and my mate has Jim’s. We bought them when your car was under construction and I had a look at it being built in Brisbane. That would have been around 12 years ago . Tom was a pretty stocky Irishman and he would have had a tight fit in the Speed . He was a former Isle of Man TT racer and had an impressive collection of Race bikes. Good luck with your build

I am late to the party here, but if it might help... think about spraying paint like acting as a 3D printer's extruder. You would never start extruding before the head is in position, and you would always stop at the same time the head makes it to the end of its movement. Since humans are not capable of perfect near simultaneous reaction times like a printer, you solve this by only spraying while you are moving. If you keep extruding/spraying while you are positioning the head (spray nozzle) you are going to deposit material where you don't want it or need it, or pile extra material up in places. This is going to make a mess (a drip/run in the case of paint). Get in a rhythm of starting your stroke/arm movement before you push the button, and releasing the button at the end of your stroke before you stop moving your arm. Never hold the nozzle down and wave the can around. That's for kids spraying their girlfriend's name on a railroad overpass or water tower - not your race car.

Bro you can't race without a mechanic. Even if it's your flatmate or just mate (thanks Kieren Godfrey - mechanic to champions [not me]), it's not possible. You're going to come in off the track full of adrenalin, try to explain what and why, and you need a level head to make adjustments. You've already got a mate there. Bring him with you. He'll need less than the cost of tires 😂 I raced bikes for a minute and Kieren was the most important person in my life. There are so many two person jobs on track; you're definitely going to need someone else
@MattRiddell3 ай бұрын
Even if you don't have a mate there do you not think you could ask a fellow competitor to jump in the car for a sec and put the brakes on? Love your work; but don't overthink things (number 8 wire kiwi here) 😂

Been enjoying the videos mate. How old and how tall are you if you dont mind me asking? Im working on my first experimental helicopter with about the same power, it too uses a Suzuki engine very similar to the hayabusa. Been looking at fireproof clothing and maybe a helmet. Technology and our access to it now is remarkable.
