Honestly, seeing how Sugar & Spice were treated in this season (& I knew of them & watched their content before I saw them on drag race) really opened my eyes to how toxic Drag Race can be. Like I love RuPaul for what he’s done for the drag community & helped bring fame to all of the drag queens that made it onto the show but he’s not as wholesome as I had thought. Sugar & Spice were treated so horribly in the beginning & the judges were brutal to them the whole time. They treated them like they were annoying little sisters & they were just so excited to be there. When they lip synced against each other, the judges were hella critical of them choreographing their lip sync & lowkey were bullying them. Then when Spice got saved, I could see a look of disappointment in some of the judges’ faces. You could tell that the other queens tried their best to protect Spice but man those judges weren’t having it… It makes me sad coming to this realization but look at all the queens who didn’t & won’t ever make it to All Stars because RuPaul doesn’t like them or they somehow “broke the rules” (Willam, Pearl, Max, Delta, & the list goes on unfortunately)
