I grew up in an environment where all this garbage they're spewing was believed and taken as fact. I was about 20 when I started actually researching on my own and realizing "Oh, my family is absolutely insane and has been teaching me complete and utter nonsense since I was born". The conversation that those 2 are having, I cannot tell you how many thousands of conversations I listened to growing up EXACTLY like it. It's weird to think that I used to be into all this. Once I started straying from how I was raised and tried to make them understand...you know, science, history and ..well, reality, it caused friction, resentment and divides that last to this day.

I work with code for a living. If I open working code and add nonsense to the script, the code will break. If I take something out that is crucial to the code working properly, the script will break. In order to alter a script or section of code I need to have a reason to do so. From there I must make changes in a way so as to not destroy the script or code. This is all to say that if the code is in a live working environment, I cannot introduce code changes on a whim and must do so in a non live/production environment. This is done in order to allow code changes to be introduced safely into production. If I break something in a development environment, there is no impact to production. Meyers’s code analogy holds based on real world evidence so support the claim that random code changes to will degrade the program. Code does not just mutate itself into existence and it is only selected for by a person who wrote the code to begin with. I am a Catholic who believes what the Church teaches on these matters; which is that Catholics are free to observe the evidence and go where it leads. We don’t have to throw out evolution nor creationism. It would be cool if you invited some of these individuals on for a discussion to allow some back and forth.
