Great video. I've been looking at the JB Genesis system. Gear that goes on every camp trip are my Kelty Window Seat. I have one for my gear and one for my food. They fold down when not in use. Gazelle G5 for the colder months, with panels(can be hung up fully or down 1/2 way to see out) Add little buddy heater. Now I camp year around.

The Space Ranger looks awesome! No matter how light weight you get, sometimes you just need to carry more water, food insulation, etc... so the extra capacity is a must. I've seen good video from other creators shooting with the newer Insta 360 cameras (not sure what models). None of us want to see anyone seriously injured or worse because they needed a hand or two free for their fancy camera. So I'm interested to see what you shoot with your new camera.

My best friend and I were camping this past week and I was making eggs and sausage for breakfast on our stove; while I was making them I was thinking some toast would be great since we had bread. Luckily our campsite had service and I saw that Coghlan makes a camp stove toast maker. Picked one up at the nearest Fred Meyers later that day and had toast with our eggs and sausage the next morning! It totally works! Just make sure the burner is turned up all the way on a Coleman stove!

I really appreciate this walk-through, especially dealing with planning for trips with the NPS, because I solo hike and do all the planning on my own. It's been rough at times and I've had to push through the stress of figuring out how the system works 1) trusting I haven't set myself up for something ridiculous, and 2) each park has its own quirks for their permit rules. So, watching you go through the same sort of process I go through was nice reassurance that I'm doing it alright. :)

The new pack looks really good. I've been looking for a new 50Lish one for awhile now, but given the cost and so much to choose from, haven't pulled the trigger (still have my old one). This one will get some serious consideration. Also, on the Ricoh camera, based on my experience with one, you have "baby" it a little bit when outside in the elements. Which I didn't do (some rain and days of very high humidity did it in), and mine didn't last all that long. Great camera, though!

Everyone keeps talking about them.. but nobody sells them. They arnt on amazon so where do you get them. Can't lie though I just hate the name. What trainers are they? Altra mate . Sounds cool. Topo mate sounds lame. The price is fine lone peaks are £128 anyway.

it would be cool if you could get some European ultralight gear for testing... there are very few companies making it so we have to import almost everything from the US, but there are a few companies that stand out like Cumulus for quilts, Liteway for pyramid tents and tarps, X-Boil for liquid fuel cooking system, and Brynje for their mesh base layer which looks silly but some people swear by it.

One small suggestion: Perhaps make one (or both) side pockets a bit taller. I have a pack right now with an 9-10 in tall side pocket and it comes in super handy carrying anything from my tent (granted I have a tarp tent), to a first aid kit, two bottles, etc whatever. It comes in super handy.
