I’m surprised your videos are JUST NOW coming into my algorithm. For years I’ve scoured YT for the exact topics you’re discussing on your channel and you’re by far the easiest to listen to and the most informative. Perfect blend of knowing what you’re talking about but delivering it in a non-technical manner that easy to understand. Wish I’d found you sooner. Keep it up either way! Cheers.

How do you like to apply it? Sticking the frame guards on the shoe goo wet? Or make a dried layer of shoe goo on the frame before installing the frame guards?

I apply it on the frame and give it overnight to dry, then put on the frame guards. Check out the 45 minute mark on the following linked video where I did it on my YZ250... kzfaq.info/get/bejne/brOUbK5oprGnZmw.html

What els causes false neutral other then the detent? I am having problems when down shifting on my 2014 yz250. Thanks
@UpAllNight913 күн бұрын
Hello. other than the detent... dirty oil, broken part of transmission getting lodged in the shift drum, or a shift detent levers roller coming apart. I will say I had a 2015 YZ450 and I had to do the shift detent mod on that bike because I was catching false neutrals going up and downshifting. It surely did the trick and that bike needed it. Its done a little differently on that bike since the spring is different. I bent the tab of the spring to cause it to apply more overall spring pressure.

thanks for a great info man just picked up a 21 250x first two stroke and it’s amazing. only issue is too bouncy on the rear. will i have issues adjusting rebound on the rear and not the forks? also what are those blue frame guards?
@UpAllNight914 күн бұрын
Your welcome. As long as it feels balanced now then your good. I do remember the rear needing more work to get it right than the front does on the 21. The blue guards are acerbis frame guards. They work well but they can wear into your frame. There is a fix for that though, I cover it at the 45 minute mark in the video linked here... kzfaq.info/get/bejne/brOUbK5oprGnZmw.html

Man you give me the confidence to give this a go. I’ve heard that you have to drill a hole somewhere to prevent a part of the shock blowing up? The mechanic (definitely trusted) that gave me advice told me there’s a modification you have to do if it’s not already done and you have to drill a hole? Does this make sense? Thanks for your help
@UpAllNight913 күн бұрын
Hello. There is nothing wrong with drilling the hole in the ICS cup (or whatever thats thing is called). I will say I have only ever seen one break on my own bikes and it was years ago. And in my opinion its caused by two things. Not pressing the inner chamber down all the way after bleeding it, to push the extra fluid out. And if the bike is laid on its side and left there for a long time. The newer (4 strokes) bikes come with this hole in there already but the 2 strokes didnt get this will 2022.
@tecdive80456 күн бұрын
Question: at 14:30 min in video, you suggest a leaded race fuel for two strokes. As you point out, lead is just an octane booster. Is a leaded fuel better than an unleaded fuel with the SAME octane?
@UpAllNight916 күн бұрын
As far as I know 113 had lead in it. I could be wrong but thats what I am finding on a quick google search. It is also oxygenated so jetting would be required. I personally have no experience with 113 myself.
@UpAllNight916 күн бұрын
Also to try an answer your question better. Lead is cheap way to get octane over 100. This is why most race fuels that are affordable and over 100 octane are leaded
@tecdive80456 күн бұрын
@@UpAllNight91 - so the only advantage of lead is that it is a less expensive octane booster - and not that it is a better octane booster than any other octane booster?
@UpAllNight916 күн бұрын
Pretty much. I remember back in 2006 when they made lead illegal for pro AMA, VP worked hard to make another fuel that had the same octane but without lead. They achieved it but the cost was through the roof and the riders all said it just didn't perform the same as the leaded stuff

My yz 250F have worn cam caps. I did buy another set of cam caps from a another dude that has the same bike because is not possible to buy only cam caps from Yamaha. Will this work? the EAN number on the caps match expect the exhaust cam cap. I heard that the cam caps most be installed with the original cylinder head that came from the factory because is bored diameter match
@UpAllNight917 күн бұрын
Hello. Yes, its always recommended to use the cam caps that come with the head. However machining is so accurate these days and each head is cut nearly identical that if a different cam cap is needed and its not feasible to change out the whole head then it can be worth a try to use a different set of cam caps. I would install the cams in the head with the new cam caps and check that they spin freely and dont have any play. If it feels good, it should be good.
@bobileksen34967 күн бұрын
@@UpAllNight91 yes agreed. But the cylinder head the sleeve that the cam sits on was also worn I clean it up with some scotch bright but I still don’t feel comfortable to run it like that I think almost like it has to be a machine job rapier. It’s such a bummer because is a GYTR cylinder head and I want it to be saved

Hello. The 2016 WR450 shock will not work on the YZ250 smoker. None of the reverse motor YZ's shocks will work. You would need a shock from a YZ smoker or a YZ 4 stroke that was before they went to the reverse motor.
