We were just here back in March. I am familiar with the area, and had no idea they were doing this! They really stripped a lot of ground! We live in TN, but my parents are in Roanoke, about an hour away. Wow, i hope the trees grow back after they are done. Between the gas line and this, they are sure churning it up! I used to work for VDOT, will have to check the website out. This has historically been a pretty inaccessible part of VA, and now we know why!

Hey thank you for your video of the road footage I was just up there today July 12th 2024 I took my little kitten to the vet at Boyce and Holland veterinarian services in Stuart to get her shots and we rode up there to Lover's leap filmed a little short video but nothing like this I couldn't get any of the road work footage I found yours tonight they have really been doing a lot of work up there I used to go up there a whole lot years ago that hadn't been since they doing all this work I live about an hour and a half from there thanks again for your video of this

I could watch this for an hour or more. I travel this way once or twice every week or so. Been ascending and descending this mountain since the 1950's. Used to climb up to the real Lovers' Leap until that guy built a house on it many decades ago. Used to go down Busted Rock Rd before Primland was ever thought of. Lots of memories from "on the mountain".

Always love your videos. I always look past project at the beautiful Virginia mountain scenery. I hope the company doing work has something else lined up when they finish this because there is a LOT of machinery that's got to go someplace. I think I saw where project supposed to be finished by 2025 Looks like still a lot to do.

I believe that each company leases the majority of their equipment and the rental company lines up where it goes to next. What makes me believe this is that a lot of their pickups and smaller equipment have their logo on the side, but a lot of the bigger equipment does not, and some even has the words “United Rental “

@@hubbard1 It would be really cool if you could mess with opacity and overlay the two images at certain points, but that would require a lot of extensive editing and know-how. A side by side would work potentially just as well.

Hey cousin, you do a good job filming. By being very familiar with the road and watching this in full screen on my desktop your presentation flows well. When people from outside our area see this they probably don't comprehend the size of the project. Off hand, I don't have a suggestion to help you with viewer retention through the presentation unless you edited in some sort of elevation or distance markings which might only take away from the video. I see one watcher actually slowed the video and made it run longer which may be a consideration. Ultimately, viewer retention is a problem for most publishers. A lot of people may have landed on this while they were looking for something totally different, so they watch a moment and move on
