I'm listening right here. I was told to tell where i was listening/watching from. Listening and obeying the destructions. Geez.

Odd question: Is there a special lens material or glasses he's using? Screen fatigue (like a chair) is important. Great interview. Thanks!

I'd have to check but I'd say that there's a good anti reflective coat on those glasses.

Never get rid of a comfortable chair. I threw out my studio chair because of a few rips in the fabric now I dislike the new one. Great interview!!

Not even close to a Decca Tree. No.1 is Glyn Johns' mic technique. Decca Tree is 3 x Omnis spaced on the same plane. Great sound though.

Thanks George, these look great. I like how easy they appear to be able to be EQ’d in room via their supplied mic and simple Calibration feature. I got here from the link posted on your George Shilling - Music and Recording Facebook page 👍🏻🎶

Greetings George and Mike, May I ask how you are using this? Are you actually making mix decisions on them or do you use them for producing? Kind regards, Gene ✌️

That was a wonderful mix of art and science. I don't know anymore if I love the carbon mic or the tube SDCs more! And Ben Andrew's playing was hypnotic. But I must say, for a "standard" piano sound, the pair of DPA mics really impressed me. Could I ask what preamps were used? Because the sound in phenomenal!

Thank you very much for the upload! It was very educational. Also, having videos of the participants asking questions was a very nice touch. It's the first time I've ever seen anyone do this way and it felt both very respectful to the participants and sort of immersive.

Thank you. Our interview with John Leckie at Abbey Road also incorporates feedback from the room. We have further features planned that also will be shot like this but as you can see by the view numbers, for some reason people just don’t seem to watch ☹️

A couple of weeks ago, we visited London and took a day tour to Stonehenge, Bath and the Cotswolds. I knew Solsbury Hill couldn't be far, so I asked our guide and he drove us nearby. Then we looked up Real World and he swung us by there as well. I jumped out for a few roadside photos, and twisted my ankle. Not sure if the public can arrange a tour, but no-matter as it wouldn't have fit my schedule. But glad to have had a quick look. Thanks for the full tour.

This is really cool, thanks for sharing! Could I use a Shure Beta 57a and get similar results? I know they're different but I have the Beta and was wondering if it could do the job, so I don't have to buy another mic. Thanks!
@RecordProductionАй бұрын
There's one way to find out - give it a try! Put on some headphones and move the mic around until you get it sounding great. No reason that mic can't work. Let us know how you get on 🙂

Is there any truth to baking reducing the lifespan of your tape to months?
@RecordProductionАй бұрын
Not expert here so if you have something important best check with an authoritative source however, we know of many cases where a tape has been re-baked over a number of years so therefore don’t expect this process to cause any harm. The temperature isn’t particularly high, the process it to extract moisture over an extended (say a day) period.

You should include the studio's website in the description, if they have one that is =)
