In some of the booklets you got you will see advertised Advance Sewing Patterns for the creative Barbie fans who may not have been able to have afforded all her readymade outfits or for the young designers who just wanted to make something unique for their Barbie. My favourite piece is the Corduroy coat with pockets. Outfits could be pricey and still are today but making something from a sewing pattern which you can still purchase today on Etsy cheaply were a really fun alternative way of designing clothes and learning how to sew. Collectors often use the term Mommy made fashions because really beautiful garments were often run up on many a kind mother’s sewing machine. But the designs came with instructions that could be hand stitched too. Your doll is gorgeous and Midge looks so much better for her makeover!

I can’t choose a cutest of the three because they’re all adorable! It’s so cool getting to see you get more familiar and confident with the pan pastels. I hope we get to see more in this series! I struggle with clothes a lot, tbh. I wore uniforms all through school and then another uniform for the first six years of working life, so the only time I really experimented with fashion was at university, and even then it was a bit unintuitive for me. Now I mostly work from home and when I go into the office the dress code is informal. I have a few outfits I use over and over for the office and find myself struggling to get out of my pyjamas at home, but sometimes you just gotta dress yourself up nicely to go nowhere to give your brain some different stimuli!

I’m right there with ya on being a house goblin! I loved to dress nicely before the pandemic (although I’ve always been a Cancer homebody) but I no longer feel comfortable leaving the house so instead of buying nice outdoor clothes I get pretty pajamas to wear at home. I started this during the pandemic and noticed I felt a lot better than I did wearing my usual oversized tee shirt and baggy sweatpants so I continue the habit to this day. BTW, love everything you create!❤
