I’ve heard that the bulk of Iran’s kills with the F-14 were either with the AiM-54 Phoenix, or the M61. Most kills of course going to the pheonix. The reason sparrow and sidewinder kills were so low is because they were using older models of the sparrow and winder. (They also have a few kills with the MiM-23, including one on a MiG-29)

I know many people hate microtransaction but what Ace Combat infinity did is kinda acceptable... Yeah Assault Horizon still managed to sold 1 million copies but that's still isn't enough to develop a new game... Especially on a brand new different engine, Unreal Engine 4. All those DLC infinity money all of them will go to the AC7 project. Project Aces and Bandai Namco legit thanking us for supporting them and saying they will continue developing AC7

As cool as the Neucom Aero-Coffins are, my favorite is actually the General Resource XFA-36A Game. Now that I think about it actually, is it possible the Game's predecessors were also made by General Resource? It feels weird to have planes of entirely different nations and possibly manufacturers following the same designation system.
@fightertales6 күн бұрын
I don't see why that's impossible. We know General Resource is around in universe as far back as 2019

The Argentinians were not out to dogfight. They wanted to sink ships, which they did and they were successful. A number of ships were hit with dud bombs or bombs that failed to explode as they were dropped from TOO low of an altitude! Both sides fought valiantly in the air.
@nichtwichtig92427 күн бұрын
It is all bullshit. Argentina lost because the weapons sold to them by France and other western countries did not activate for the inbuilt "friend-foe identification" which could not be disabled by Argentina. So the English heard the Torpedos from the German built Argentine submarine bumping against the hull of the aircraft carrier but no detonation. Same for the Exocets and the bombs which did not explode. Nothing like "fuses wrong set" or such bull. And yes the Excocet hitting the Sheffield did not detonate either, this was just such a crappy shit if sank even so, kinda of self-inflicted I would say. No British heroes no superiority just cheating. As usual when Brits go to war I want to add.

They still lost the war that they incited
@yokokoko4997 күн бұрын
@@thefrenchcommander5770 true but i don’t think its worth giving this side of the story a “hype”. These pilots lost a no-win situation but theyve risked it anyways. Ironically: a boring match. Well tbf the Argentinian pilots werent as skilled or experienced as the NATO pilots. But still i can see them maybe doing a little bit better with those transponders completely turned off. And then theres their Obsolete aircrafts…
@patrickchase56146 күн бұрын
This is simply nonsense. The GP bombs that the Argentines delivered from too low didn't even _have_ IFF. They had simple impact fuses, which were equipped with a time delay to protect the launching aircraft. There was no conspiracy there, just Argentine pilots who didn't understand that aspect of their weapons. That's understandable because their doctrine didn't anticipate delivery from such low altitudes. That was an exceptionally brave and skillful improvisation on their part. The same agoes for Exocet. IFF can be spoofed, so nobody builds an IFF keepout into a weapon like that. What Exocet _did_ have was a fairly crude radar seeker that was easy to jam/decoy, which is why the only UK ships to be hit were the Sheffield (which didn't realize she was under attack and didn't even try to jam or decoy the missile) and the Atlantic Conveyor (which was a commercial ship and didn't have jammers or decoys). By the way, scoring 3 hits and 2 kills out of a pre-war inventory of 5 Exocets was an exceptional performance on the part of the Argentines. They couldn't have expected any better, and if they hadn't been very skilled they would have done far worse. No credible Argentinian source has ever claimed that they got a torpedo shot at the carriers. The fact is that it's _very_ difficult for a diesel boat like the Type 209 to intercept a carrier in the open ocean. The only way they can realistically get a shot is if the carrier comes to them, so example by transiting a chokepoint. The UK had it much easier against the Belgrano because they had nuclear boats that were able to sustain high speeds underwater and thereby get into position.
@patrickchase56146 күн бұрын
@@yokokoko499 IFF had nothing to do with it. The bombs that failed to explode didn't have IFF in the first instance. Nor did Exocet. And there is no such thing as "underwater IFF", so the bit about the torpedos is ridiculous. Given that the Argentinians only had a grand total of 5 Exocets, 3 hits and 2 sinkings was an extremely good performance. They had and have nothing to complain about there. It also was unrealistic to expect a diesel boat that has to snorkel (and thereby expose itself to radar) to go any distance was going to catch a carrier group in the open ocean. That only happens when the carriers is constrained to a small operating box, and the UK didn't operate like that.
@yokokoko4996 күн бұрын
@@patrickchase5614 i didn’t particularly agree that theres underwater IFF transponders. What I’m saying is their transponders was one of their biggest reasons why they failed in the air

Been to Miramar many times. Here's a S.D. urban legend. A Navy jet from a carrier was coming in for a landing at Miramar. But, it had the cable hook from the carrier stuck & hanging down under the jet. And, on its landing run the cable hit a car on the HWY that goes right by the base. Cutting the car in half. I wonder, here in the time of the "American Wokie" if such urban legends are being passed on anymore. The "KGB Dawn Patrol" was not to be believed, Dave, Shelley, & Chainsaw!😆😂🤣🎼🎵🎶 And, S.D. loved their CHARGERS⚡

I'm surprised you didn't mention the spookiest plane there by far. SAM 26000, President Kennedy's former Air Force One, a Boeing VC-137C. It flew Kennedy to Dallas the day he was assassinated, and it was the same plane that President Lyndon B Johnson was sworn in on. The plane also carried President Kennedy's body back to Washington. I was actually there last October, rushing through to see all the planes in the museum before it closed shortly before 5:00. I was one of the last people in the presidential wing at the time, and while I didn't see anything weird, I did notice how unnaturally quiet it was inside SAM 26000 (the plane is open and you can walk through it). I couldn't hear any of the announcements being told through the loudspeakers, but as soon as I walked through the doorway outside the plan I could hear them perfectly. Whether it was just my mind playing tricks on me or a really good insulation job, I don't know. I don't really believe in ghost stories, but that plane gave me the creeps.

And the US Navy also had airships both blimp and rigid frame as well. The Helium Act of 1925 authorized the procurement of land that had the potential to produce helium gas and banned the export of helium. This along with the creation of the Federal Helium Reserve ensured that the United States would have a supply of helium for their airships while also ensuring that other nations had to use hydrogen for their own ships. USS Akron and USS Macon were not just rigid airships, they were flying aircraft carriers which is truly wild to think about

in 82' a syrian mig 25R was doing high altitude surveillance and non of the israeli fighters could climb high enough or maintain patrol at the same altitude to do a reasonable interception (israel had the f-15 and f-16 by then, but did not get the aamram missile which was supposed to kill the mig 25 untiol much later. so the mig 25rs were a nuisacne , even from the early 70s. too fast and too high. the solution was to use the missiles from a hawk SA battery but instaed of using a radar guidance, which would limit somewhat the altitude, they hawk battery was configured to be piloted by a joystick. this joystick control was part of a QA kit that came with teh battery but was rigged up to operate not during testing but during oparation. the "pilot" guided the hawk missile onto the mig 25 and therefor this was the first drone interception, technically, of a mig 25.
