I lived through this syndrome. I could see all the pieces, and as a natural philosopher, I made many observations that linked directly to many points in this video. But I didn't have the knowledge to piece together the puzzle, only some clues and generalizations. I wish I could have learned this information 15 years ago, and had the wisdom to put it to use then. But we'll take it now. I'm on the right path, and things might just take a miraculous turn. I'm sharing this info in a form more palatable for non-doctors/academics, with family and friends. The good thing about being late to this party, is that is a shedload of data, and examples of people fixing themselves (whether they know it or not) by addressing key factors in their metabolic breakdown that this video had illuminated.

I add 1 oz liver to 1 lb ground beef. I get all of the wonderful benefits of liver without having to taste it, and in small amounts that my body can handle. Liver will basically liquify when processed in a blender or food processor and is easy to comine with the meat. I also add beef fat to my ground beef the same way.

I'm not a doctor, but I'm 66 years old and this has been my life. Through a keto diet I've been able to get rid of the pain in my body that set in when I turned 59. I was definitely a sugar-holic, and when I quit both grains AND all forms of sugar, the pain was GONE. Now I'm learning about metabolic syndrome. Thank you, Dr. Lustig, for information that a non-medical person could understand.

Plant based diet is being pushed as reversal/cure for every chronic disease. It definitely can benefit health, but I feel like other approaches are so suppressed/vilified in the media. I have one relative who has been plant based (low fat, high carb) for 10 years, on the verge of diabetes by A1C level. She believes fat is the cause of diabetes, wants to hear nothing about how her high carb diet is likely the cause of metabolic issues. People are addicted to carbs and want to believe rice, pasta, bread are “healthy.” To think, we had it right way back in the late 1800’s!! Ignore the “healthy carb” noise and rely on actual science. Thanks to Sarah for all the work she did in this area!

I have watched probably hundreds of interviews with Drs. Phinney and Volek, but I have to say this one was one of the best I have seen. I know all this information already, but this was a well-put-together interview, in my opinion. The questions you are asking are great and offer a wonderful opportunity for them to provide the answers. Thank you, Dr. Bourke.

Oh dear Halberg was not reversing diabetes, she would just have you hide from carbohydrates perpetuating the myths and assumptions of 200 years ago. Ignore her. If you have to hide from carbohydrates you are not correcting the problems in your body. Keep in mind that the longest lived most healthy populations on the planet eat almost exclusively carbohydrates and next to no meat, eggs, fish and dairy. She did not understand insulin resistance. Her keto approach will bring you all the standard diabetic outcomes of kidney disease, heart disease, vascular dementia, stroke and cancer.... which sadly Sarah found out first hand. Unfortunately she clearly wasn't that bright as way before the science was understood the literature over the last 100 years showed us that it is oils, fats and animal protein that cause insulin resistance and T2 diabetes. Anyone who really wants to correct the condition of their body should read and listen to Mastering Diabetes by two T1 diabetics and biochemist who actually understand how the body really works.

Evolution is weak science too. Notwithstanding whether we were created/designed or evolved it's pretty clear from our anatomy (no secum, elongated small intestine, stomach ph) and relative brain to body size we must be meateaters going back a long time into our evolutionary past (aka a long time ago).

It's interesting that team is an anagram of meat. Meat=eatm, so eat it up people, just be conscious of the source, no factory farmed meat and definitely no fake make. Alcohol is proven to cause various cancers but the gov't doesn't seem too concerned about that fact.

35 days in after I changed life style 180 degrees. carnivore diet, eat once a day and done two 48 hour fast. Feel grat and all my Undefined health issues is almost gone...But I am worried on my Ketone levels.... Ketones after 14 days started to show 4-5 mmol/L but sometimes spike to 7-8 and once to 8.7 mmol/L. my understanding is that unless Glucose is high this is ok ? My Glucose was 3.4 mmol/L when Ketones was 8.7 mmol/L.

Veganism is heavily promoted on youtube. There are channels like "Sauce Stache" and " Physicians Committee" whom I've REPEATEDLY selected "DON'T RECOMMEND CHANNEL" but yet they keep popping up over and over and over. The only way they can override that feature is if they give tons of money to youtube to allow it. I eventually just got a browser plugin to completely block all that vegan crap permanently. It's absolute proof that it's heavily promoted though. BIG BUSINESS
