I been looking for some info on Rose wines, looked at a few KZfaq videos, all failed to properly explain… your video is the most clear and best! Plus you do not look drunk while presenting. Drunk videologging is a real put off!

Hello from Marlborough New Zealand. Sauvignon Blanc is very distinct, with sharp fruit notes particularly gooseberry Marlborough Sav is a staple of any New Zealand summer barbeque, it pairs perfectly with strong cheese or shellfish. It is.the ideal wine to dink on a hot summer day when hanging out with friends in the backyard or deck

I work at a tasting room and many of my guests love it with dark chocolate and Cabernet Sauvignon but if you’re asking me personally, I prefer not to have any chocolate with wine in general except maybe port

Beautifully explained terms, thank you Lady. I am just confused about the word Cuvee, the internet data says that the word literally means a Vat/Tank/Cistern (sometimes used for fermentation), or that CUVE is referring to "a wine that's made of a specific blend of different varieties of grapes. Confusingly, it can also be used to describe the first cut from the pressing of the grapes, which is regarded as the best juice..." Or maybe it's just all of the above, hm. p.s I am so lost in the cuve...
@MyWineDiary21 күн бұрын
Hey there! You are correct, Cuvée is a French wine term that derives from "cuve", meaning vat or tank. However, wine makers use the term cuvée with several different meanings!

Nice video. My two favorite are Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir. I've tried Malbec it's good! I'll also drink Merlot, hell I'll try any red wine! I recently tried Barbera and Barolo. They were both very good, but for me of those two Barolo was better! Cheers!

Great informative video. I like New World styles for casual drinking. For example, I enjoy the fruit-forward profile of California's Pinot Noir to drink on its own and I also enjoy the structure of some of South America 's take on grapes such as Carmenere from Chile or Malbec from Argentina. Having said that, I also enjoy specific Old World wines ike Chianti Classico to pair with Italian food or a Bordeaux from France if I am eating a protein-heavy meal. In that sense, it depends on the kind of experience I am trying to have or what food I am pairing it with.
@MyWineDiaryАй бұрын
Thank you for sharing your feedback, very well said! Taste is definitely subjective. Some people prefer the nuanced, complex, and often subtler flavors of Old World wines, while others enjoy the bold, fruit-forward, and approachable style of New World wines. We also don't have to choose between the two, end enjoy all of it instead! Ultimately, neither Old World nor New World wines are inherently better; it comes down to what you enjoy and the context in which you are enjoying the wine.

How is decant (video 1) different from Raking (video 2) pls?
@MyWineDiaryАй бұрын
Great question! Both racking and decanting are aimed to remove sediment from wine. The difference between the two is that racking is done on a larger scale (leaving the sediment behind in a tank or a barrel by transporting it into smaller vessels) and decanting is pouring the wine from the bottle into a decanter to remove sediment before serving it.

I think you nailed it, $15 is a great point to start, especially when you are in discovery phase. As far as restaurants you kind of have to look at the wine list and maybe stick to the middle of that list in terms of price. That could be $40 to who knows. It depends on the restaurant. Most restaurants double and then some the price (1x, 2x or even 3x? yikes). Try to pick a wine you know and like... or ask the server what wines are popular since the regular clientele will be picking a value wine that delivers above its price. Look around the room see what is being drunk. Do this especially in France and places you are not a regular at. As you will not have time to "learn"... so go with advice. Servers never try to hurt their customers. Also many restaurants buy from a winery direct or a specific distributor that gets them "volume discounts". The restaurants often get the wine at 30%+ below retail, meaning they can really make a killing on that bottle price. But remember the wine is a big part of a restaurant's profit. They need those wine sales to really make a living. Especially if it is a small family run place. The food is often kept cheaper so that wine sales bring in more profits. Also if you are learning wine, go to a wine store where a sommelier is picking the wines being sold. And make friends with that person, It will rocket up your experience.

I use the schema for reds: 13.5%ABV < light bodied; 13.6% to 14.4% < light to medium bodied; medium bodied< 14.5% -14.7%; medium to full bodied < 14.8% to 14.9%; full bodied >= 15% ABV

I dont think I've ever seen Cecilia Beretta wines, but if I come across it i'll be sure to check it out on your recommendation. I live close to Valdobbiadene and If you are ever in the area be sure to try prosecco from Le Bertole, wonderful staff and wines to choose from. They also have a passito - made from Glera grapes. Le Bertole is one place I always go back to, and is underrated. Should mention also Canevel Spumanti, it has an incredible location and the pedigree to back up their high prices, but worth checking out.
