All i want to say.. in every legit CNC channel... Hand programming on the laithe.... Its the worlds most expencive calculator... Either do CAD/CAM or program off the machine, while it works.. Just think... implement... and see more productivity!
@Erik_Blomgren Жыл бұрын
Hand programming is fine, if you know how to do it right! I'm running a slightly older 5-axis dual spindle/turret bar feeder lathe, and it's got manual programming only. No graphics, no nothing. There you really have to time everything right to make it not crash, and to make the cycle time as short as possible while still having good tool life, when running several thousand parts that's important. And all i can say is that it's honestly fine! I've only ever really had one major crash, and that was a parting tool that got to close the collet chuck in the sub-spindle while parting off a 6mm thick part... Shot some sparks but all went well. As long as you're careful and know what you're doing it's no issue at all hand programming your lathe.

Were is the center ? should have had a prep op to put a No 2 centre in one end.Yes you did the first part right by leaving .125 away from the job but you failed by not having a machined center in one end. PS. ALWAYS HAVE A PREP OP FIRST

If someone stood at the controls and wrote this code, and got it to work like that, then they have deliberately made bad code... there is no way this was written by hand, this is bad cam code... if you’re gonna do a type 2 cycle and get it to work on a haas, there’s no way you’re this bad at programming.... this is cam code and I’m flat out calling bullshit....

my suggestion for you is to turn the part from the front to back and do not face/back turn the radius on the front of the part. the radius could be turned easier and quicker by doing it all in one direction as an od turn. ref. X (dia + .02) z.1 G71 repetitive cycle G0 x; G1Z0; G3 X Z R; G2 X Z R; G1 X; G3 X Z R; G1 Z; X; Z; X Z; << if the lathe can't do undercutting in repetitive cycle..... then ruff the tapered into undercut. your finish pass should start at the front X0 Z0 and be one smooth motion to the back you will find it will reduce your cycle time. ( I have been a machinist for over 35 years and programmed and operate CNC for over 20 years. employers always want it as quick and efficient as possible without burning up the inserts.. )

Cutting speed and feed are extremely high.Seems only for demo piece. For production batches, such cutting parameters will never maintain required tolerances
@MF175mp2 жыл бұрын
High feed is good, speed for roughing too high and depth too shallow.

I've seen worse from people that have spend all life working on a cnc lathe. To watch a part that is more than 10 ton in weight to fell of the machine it takes some skill, but yeah the way you hold your part is most important thing in cnc machining

Too much per one time or the distance it’s too long. Best idea to turn on till half beyond the groove and clamp again from another side with using soft jaws.
