Totally understand the commentary and comments and agree with most-I did get the new pastel quad and, yes, the quality is terrible. I’ve consumed every video about it and all have had the same experience: it’s just not pigmented, but it *is* pretty on the eye, and buildable. You are quite right to only buy for the Mariam, and I hope you do not purchase this when you get back, as you’ve proven that you already have these in your collection. Now for the one thing with which I do not align: I love me a bright pink/fuschia on my eyes. I have very pale skin and hazel eyes, so the pink doesn’t make me look ill, and really brings out the green in my eyes. I understand the pink fatigue, but I’m grateful she includes those bright pinks at least once in a quad or Mothership…but I also don’t need just pinks. Have a wonderful vacation, I will miss your content, but will be content (ha!) with knowing you are enjoying your holidays! ❤

I love your collection!! Got me thinking that I should re-pick up the Chanel tint I gave to my aunt. Also I agree EL foundation can be pretty lightwieght and not mask-y. I think it's all about how people chose to prep their skin. I had a tiny sample that lasted me a pretty go while. I didn't know that they sold a smaller bottle and that they are produced in the same factory as Mac. This was a nice vid, excited for the next part!

I do wonder if some of the nostalgia from others (I don't count you and others in this) but I remember people complaining when she had come out with her original three. Tons of people complained about Decadence, they complained about Midnight Sun, A lot of people didn't know what to do with many of her early palettes and they complained about the price (all while buying $90 quads from TF). That only really changed when they came out with Divine Rose. But, I do actually wonder if they started coming out the really eclectic color stories if people would actually like it and actually use it. People beg for color, they get color, then they complain about it. Again, I don't count you in this group of people I'm talking about, because you actually use all of your motherships and I can fully understand your frustration. Majority of other people, I do not like to hear their bad takes because, they complain about pinks...but don't seem to complain about Chanel/TF/Dior/CT, etc doing tons of pinks and having more or less repeat collections over and over again. However, I agree....I am not sure what is going on with PMG. They do seem to be having an identity crisis. This year has also been really weird from them in general. You really do articulate issues well and sums up the weirdness going on with them. Let's....hope they get it together. I would love for them to go back to being artsy-artsy and different. I wonder... when PMG started out...was the brand independently owned by her? Or was she under some makeup conglomerate under Sephora? Like I wonder how much creative control she has had from the get-go. And if she was being pushed out of her brand in some kind of way? I wonder what would be going on behind the scenes. And it is not out of the question (if she doesn't have as much creative control now) that her race plays into it some how. I mean it does with they way I have seen her brand get so much animosity for basically anything other luxury brand does. And if she did own it at the start and then sold it, would that be where the change started happening? IDK I would have to research. I am just throwing out crack-pot theories into the wind atm lol But, I also stopped getting my hopes up for like.....most makeup because when you have deeper skin -- the sheer amount of disappointment happens so much in many makeup releases, that I am almost desensitized to it now LOL I will say tho... I did end up purchasing a couple motherships because of you! I am not the biggest eyeshadow person, but your enthusiasm for makeup is really infectious it got me thinking about how I do like makeup--I just need to use it in a way that makes sense for me.

I feel exactly the same way about the Pat McGrath launches. I just feel resigned to be disappointed by them now. I wasn’t even excited at all for this release and it hardly made me sad at this point. PML had targeted niche and luxury. I think they have lost their way. They are still priced high but the innovation seems gone. The wallpaper Bridgerton packaging and the timid shade selections are not resonating with luxury aficionados. They don’t seem innovative enough for makeup Geeks. It’s great seeing you enjoying the classic palettes. I would love to see this quality again. Thank you for spending some time with us before your holidays. I look forward to your return.

If she had've named the brand "Divine Rose", okay fine. But she named the brand eponymously. She must care deeply. (?? I think so.) At the very least, do you think she designs the color stories/textures these days? Just wondering what everyone else thinks about the progression/evolution of her brand. Anyhow. We “niche” Pat buyers are all experiencing that same feeling of heartbreak/disappointment. I did not buy Sunlit Seduction either. Patty Alonso did a great video with the lavender/mint quad, I found it very interesting. Have a nice vacation!

I can’t even remember when I gave up the PML FOMO. I will admit it was difficult at first, but I learned to live again 😂. After seeing you create a look using Lavendaring (a couple years ago), I couldn’t get it out of my head. I kept searching Mercari and Poshmark and found it! It is one of my absolute favorite shades and so unique. I miss and love her old formula/packaging and I’m not planning on buying anything from this release, and I did not buy the last Mothership. I purchased the purple quad from PML. It arrived two days after ordering. I sooo miss the lacquer quad packaging!! If she put it in the pink lacquer packaging, it would have been much better. In any case, the color story is so pretty! Very mermaid 🧜🏽‍♀️ BUT the quality of the shadows are so dry. It’s the worst formula I have from PML. Smh, 🤦🏽‍♀️ but I had to have it. It is pretty on the eyelids. I totally agreed with your analysis! I have a feeling the next mothership will be blue. You eye look looks beautiful with the dress! Have fun!

I love your dress! I did not buy Mothership XI, and do not plan to buy either of the new quads. Your theory makes perfect sense. I agree - the regular Joe would not pay that much money for those quads in a cardboard box. Still (faintly) hoping that Mothership XII is great (one can dream). I got risqué rose thanks to you and I love it. The metallics are stunners, but I also love the mattes- the dark chocolate is the perfect diffused thick eyeliner for me. Also, loving the pattern of your dress, suits you so well. I think it’s perhaps because it mimics the contrast of your warm skin and dark hair 😊 I don’t think you mentioned the lip product you’re wearing before adding the final lipstick. Really curious as it’s the kind of hue I’m drawn to lately. Enjoy your holidays!

I really like your thought process about sold out marketing ploy and fomo. I'm not interested in this Pat's collection at all. I have the dupes you've shown us here in my collection as well. And I feel like they are a better fit for me. As for the whitish iridescent shade, I think it's quite similar to Bobbi Brown lilac shade from Moonstone Glow palette or even to Pat's Astral Orchid and Iridescent Pink 003. Not 100% dupe, but somewhat similar imo. Have a great vacation!

I’ve seen swatches that make the palette look completely lacking in pigment and others that where they looked really creamy.

There has been a influx of blush releases lately, huda beauty and hourglass both released liquid blushes. Do you think you will review any of those? Also, just wondering, do you own any Huda beauty palette?

On a different comment section, there was a wholeee thread on all the purples pat has ever produced 😆 lavendering from rose risque, this bright purple from midnight sun, in the quad fleur fantasia and passion fleur, lavender haze from celestial oddysey et cetera. It makes me want to dig deeper in my own collection instead of purchase the new quad. I wasn't tempted anyway - feel would be a waste of the money.
