The improvements are what I'm sold on - exterior means very little to me compared to what it does and how the interior looks. Subaru is reaching for someone like me who wants the things like a quieter interior, better sound system, ventilated seats, upgraded x mode. As for exterior styling, it's what is inside the book (the story) not the cover which sells me. Looking forward to buying my first Subaru and forester around the fall of 2024.

Did Falken help sponsor this video? Did you have to pay for the tires yourself? I'm looking forward to your review of them on the highway and other street driving.

The CVT is the only reason I never bought a Subaru. They are cheaper to develop and build, so I get why automakers like them. But they rip a lot of the fun out of driving.

Love these Wilderness model Subaru videos. Its showing me that a Subaru Wilderness model will do everything I'd need....I want the Subaru Forester Wilderness. With the videos you have done with the Forester Wilderness with stock tires the places you've taken it has had some more challenging terrain than I'll get into and you haven't had any trouble overall in your ventures so a Subaru will work just fine for my occasional back roads adventures and camping excursions. A lot of places I've gone recently I've been able to tackle with my 1987 Ford Ranger 2WD pickup...so I Subaru will do fine LOL.

Might be too much of a shake up with the history of their drivetrain in Rally. A newer 4WD Subaru would be cool though.

@@TheCreateOutdoors I owned two Subaru Forrester. The boxer engine is a big problem, the gaskets always fail and need to be replaced, which is very expensive. And it's been the same engine for ever, and not a good one. Lastly, these soft-core off-roaders demand exceptional skills and patience from the driver (and you have both!) and deliver little in return. Imagine doing the same trail with your 4Runner--it would have been a breeze. I know, because I own one.

"Expect to pay 10 to 20 grand more, if you can find it". I literally called up 3 dealers today, they all had at least 1 in one color or another, and their MSRP. So I "ordered" a pepper red one for 57k. Wow, such a markup, wow so hard to find......

I bought the 23 Sport XT5 for the premium suspension and off road mode. I would have paid extra to get a vehicle without a screen. I am not cool. I live on the worst roads in Northern Ontario and the off road suspension and AWD is very comfortable. I often drive several hours to visit the kids and my back and arse does not hurt anymore when I get there. The electric passenger seat is hard to find on other makes, but this has it. Getting older and it is harder to climb up into trucks and down into sedans...these seats are perfect to adjust to get into. The V6 got 6.7 L/100 km on the last trip. ..that's 36 miles a US gallon for my American friends. I paid considerably less than 70,000 US being the year old model and having some GM points to use up. Well, to be exact I paid $59,000. I love the lights situated on the front to look for moose in the ditches. This is my first Caddy and my wife thought I was losing it because we always drive farm trucks. I'd buy it again.

That isn't a 7/10.. That's more like a 2/10 😂😂😂 Fins and things in Moab is a 5/10 and that's way more technical than this gravel road is.

Just reporting what it’s classified as. Obviously that would be with the rock gardens, which we clearly bypassed. That said even with 10+ inches of ground clearance we scraped a lot. Standard clearance Crosstrek even with the short wheelbase probably wouldn’t have made it through.

Love your channel! I have a 2022 Forester wilderness and was curious how the newer crosstrek performs with this set up as I am thinking of replacing my stock tires with these ones! Since you're situated in the PNW - have you ever considered in doing some trial runs up in BC, Canada - we got some pretty gnarly forest service roads up this way that I've driven on with my FW.

I can't see using this vehicle for anything but taking the kids to soccer. Im sorry. It's a very expensive flash mobile without much real practical application in a real 4wd situation. Wheel lifts due to all around independent suspension with no articulation to speak of. My opinion.
