Honda crv in 2017 had both engines, the 1.5 turbo and the 2.4. How come your videos are all for 1.5?
@603Mechanicvids6 күн бұрын
I haven't had a 2.4 to work on

you do NOT NEEEED to remove the fan... it only really helps with room with pressing the pulley back on. if you have extensions the fan can stay on. you can press the pulley back on with the fan in place, its tedious but possible (did it with a ratchet and adjustable wrench) if you have a ratcheting box wrench big enough for the nut that does the pressing; it will be pretty quick. but the extra 2 steps of removing/installing the fan is not needed especially when buying that tool to hold the pulley.

I found it much easier to remove the three bolts first before removing the power wire and plug. Access to these is very difficult while the alternator is in place. Same goes for putting the alternator back in; wire and plug first then bolts. I'm going to rebuild the Mitsubishi alternator I took out so I've got a spare (parts are only $40). Also, it may be easier (for putting the belt back on) to remove the passenger side front tire and wheel well at the start. Routing and setting the belt can be tricky and cause a problem if not done properly so an ounce of prevention...Good video!

Jeez I smashed my rear right cluster a tree branch hit it in a storm Honda wanted ridiculous money to replace it, I ordered one of Ali express which was less than half the price of the OEM part, I wish I had bought the Honda OEM part instead the LEDs are not as bright and through up error on the dash, what ever you do don't buy the cheap crap from Ali express however tempting the price.

does the intake and exhaust use the same sensors, or are they different?

they're different, the exhaust uses oxygen sensors and the intake system has maf and map sensors

Very good video I didn't have a fanblade remover so I went the other way without fanblade off as the other gentleman did. Took everything out all together then removed power steering puller when it was on the ground. Both ways are good but not having to remove clutch fan was much easier. Thanks for alternate procedures.

I would get a 14 mm spark plug socket with built in magnet . AS it will hold the spark plug as you put it in place . So as not to drop it , etc to damage the tip and risk crossthreading .I also removed one coil pack , yet didn't have the right spark plug socket , now I do . So reconnected everything , yet had engine light on , saying three different fuel injectors were malfuntioning , charging system malfunction , collision control malfunction and orange triangle appearing on dash . Others have removed the negative battery terminal before this . I am thinking I shorted out the alternator or what !? Now to test all fuses to see if blown , especially one for alternator . Previously I had power washed my engine and how many days later . I tried to start my car and it was completely dead , used a battery jumpstarter to get it going . A few days ago car stalled on freeway , had to have it towed home .

At 5:26 there is a mounting bolt visible under the 16mm line that I don't know the name of. I need to know what size they are to remove them. The pump I bought at o'reilly had the mounting bolts installed in the opposite positions making the bracket sit unevenly. Other pumps are prohibitively expensive or don't include those bolts at all! One of the bolts have a raised portion so the mounting bracket is level. Any help is appreciated!
