Gosh, what a beautiful area, and one I'd never heard of before. It's definitely going onto my list of places to visit if I ever get back to Colorado. Very interesting information about Dennis Weaver, too. I remember him well from watching McCloud as a kid and always thought he was just an all around good guy. Now, I have even more to admire about him! (I also really liked the last piece of music you chose for this video!)

You're always such an encouragement to me! I think Ridgway is one of those places that people drive by to visit the more popular areas nearby, but it is such a gem. I hope you can make it to Colorado sometime soon.

Hey y’all. Thanks for the video. Is the fourteen day limit per campsite, or per trail location. Can one move just to the next campsite a few miles away and stay in the same area for more than fourteen days? How close was the nearest dump station to where y’all were? Thanks again. Have a Wonderful time
@SwitchingGearsRVDiary13 күн бұрын
Great questions. Each area can have different rules, but in general both National Forests and BLM land has a 14 day stay limit within a 28 day period and 20 mile radius. We use the Maverick Station in Montrose (31 miles away) because it is free.

Too bad you missed the Ocean Star. All the stuff you showed can be seen just about anywhere, slightly different flavor for sure, but how often does one get the chance to on what had been an actual off-shore oil rig????

Sorry you didn't find value in the video. It's funny you mention Ocean Star Oil Rig. It was high on our list of museums to see for the very reason you mentioned. But, like I said in the video we were having so much fun with all of the free things to do there, I decided to chill and just enjoy the, as you put it "flavor" of Galveston. Happy travels.

Those atriums were outstanding! I've always thought of Nashville as a traffic-filled city on the Interstate that I had to go through on my way from Illinois to Florida every summer. Now, I know of many places in Nashville - outside of downtown - that look very interesting! Thanks!
@SwitchingGearsRVDiary2 ай бұрын
I was very impressed by the atriums. If you go, parking at the Mall will save you $10 in parking fees. Nashville seems to be a popular stop between Florida and the North. The Campgrounds were full of people from the North heading home. You know traffic is our nightmare too. I'm glad you found something that you'd consider worthy of going to here.

Fantastic video! We're from the UK and fell in love with Utah over a decade ago; we've been many times and are coming back again this year. For us, Highway 12 was one of those "unexpected" highlights a few years ago when we set off along the route without knowing in advance the significance of it. Driving the Hogback scared the cr*p out of us the first time! We've since come to absolutely love it and the surrounding area. Hiking to the nearby Lower Calf Creek falls last year was an amazing highlight. One thing I would say is there's far more to Utah than just the Mighty 5 National Parks (great though they are) - it's a vast State with so much to explore and enjoy.
@SwitchingGearsRVDiary4 ай бұрын
Andy, so well said! I found that roads that you expect are less memorable than the roads you come across and are surprised. Lower Calf Creek Falls had no parking left when we arrived so we didn't stop to hike. We'll have to return there someday. We'll be visiting Utah for a full month every October to find the many gems Utah has to offer. It's like you said, Utah is far more than just the Mighty Five. Thanks for watching.
