I wouldn’t want to live with my mother-in-law. Why? Because I can see how my mother is with my sister-in-law. Lots of catty remarks targeted towards her. “Oh, she’s lazy. She married young. She’s just wasting your brother’s money. Imagine that. Why won’t she work? She’s a stay-at-home mom that does not contribute anything to her family. I feel sad for your brother, working hard, providing for her and their 4 children. I wish your brother married another woman.” And they don’t even live together. They just see each other every now and then. Needless to say, I don’t have real respect for my mother’s character. She is my mother and I wouldn’t want to do anything to disrespect her. But the truth is, I don’t like her. I don’t like being with her. And if she acts and talk like that, I have a prejudice that my mother-in-law might have some type of opinion of me also. Let’s just be away from each other and have some respect while we can.

Don’t fucking live with your in laws. Don’t get married until you can support a seperate living arrangement for yourself for at least a few months. There is just no way this can end well. Anyone preaching anything different is blatantly lying

In India, living with in laws is still the norm and many times chosen. But we never know what is ahead of us till after we get married. When my in laws came to see me, I was told that they were looking for prospects for both their son and their daughter. And that their daughter had to stay at home because she left her job in the covid period. Generally, in India, people don't marry their daughters into families with unmarried daughters. And I also felt that it's just a matter of time and she'll get married off and that I'll adjust with them thinking of them as my own family. But now it's becoming difficult to live with them and it has not been 3 years also. She says she doesn't want to get married, neither are my in laws trying. The problem is that she's stubborn and hot headed also. I try to keep quiet a lot but now a days I just can't. And I'm afraid of my relationship with them turning sour.

I wish my inlaws didn't live in our basement suite. I don't feel like I have any privacy, they are not respectful about the use of hydro, water and other utilities. Their rent covers heat, water, hydro, insurance, cable, internet, phone, laundry and parking. They pay less than 1/2 market value of rent in our city. I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW FRUSTRATING THIS IS. DON'T RENT TO YOUR INLAWS. 😮‍💨

My husband moved father in law permanently because he changed his mind when he was supposed to come only for visiting. My marriage was almost destroyed. In law got sick and needed surgery and I got pregnant. Husband out and about at night after work. Me taking care of in-law. I was his full time caregiver. Had to fight for in-law and husband help around the house. We almost divorced. After surgery he finally decided to move his dad out because we were at the point of divorce. Our relationship was destroyed, he was so mad at me for having to pull his dad out of the house. I am about to give birth and our relationship has had some time to flourish again. His dad will be coming to stay with us again. As far as it is for a little while and visit I can hold my shit together but if he changes his mind again and he leaves his dad with us our marriage won’t hold another crisis that is for sure. Let me tell you I love my husband but I do not see him with the same eyes due to all the nightmare he put me through. I am very cautious and reserved and I know that is not good for couples but it is like I cannot avoid being like this right now and that saddens me. I am very prone to hide in my shell and I never thought I will have to be in a shell with him, but here I am.

Okay first of all I had tried high carb and low carb alternate days but realized since I was only recording things into Noom which does not account for your macros, that I was actually eating all high carb days. So I decided tomorrow which was yesterday to try low carb and today to try low carb and I felt so good yesterday that I was like you know what I don't even have a desire to go high carb so I'm just going to stay on vegetarian keto however I also have a milk allergy so I can't use any type of dairy products which is a little bit tricky but at least they have vegan alternatives. Today I started with bulletproof coffee and I think the caffeine was a little bit too much for me so next time I will drink decaf coffee and put my coconut oil in it. I was very jittery today and felt kind of hungry later on in the day so I had a shake with protein powder and soy milk and I ended up having more soy milk later and some kidney bean balls kind of like meatballs and some olives so I had a little bit of carbs and I'm trying to stick with 100 g of carbs right now to see how I feel and how I do on that first and then I'll decide to drop down if I want to from there

The Term "Vegetarian Keto" is an oxymoron since the term keto (from KETOSIS) refers to the bodies natural homeostatic state whereby it is utilising the CORRECT food for fuel and cellular repairs which is ANIMAL fat, whereas the term "Vegetarian" means eating any old crap that is NOT food and is NOT from animals. Do NOT ever confuse OIL with FAT. One is pure poison the other essential to human and animal life. Good luck.

What to do when you have been giving your 100% respect and whole hearted care to your in laws and at the end you find out that they bitch about you behind your back. Leave no opportunity to take part in daughter/ son in law's (husband wife's little quarrels) that make little issue a big fight. Take sides of her daughter regardless of who's at fault. Its hard to face them everyday and behave as if nothing has happened and act normal. Sometimes I feel like staying at work for as long as could.

Many times I have Imagined leaving my husband because of his family- For ladies out there - Indian In-laws are the most toxic people on this planet Tip- if your Indian inlaws are born before 1970, stay as far as possible, if they’re born after you can live in the same city but never with them Unfortunately I am living with mine for 15 years may God help me out of this hell. But please do not ruin your life by deciding to live with them 🙏🏼

Hello all, i am from india. can anyone guide me , I am almost 26. My boyfriend and I often talk about getting married. His parents are extremely nice and i am sure I won't have problem living with them but the issue is I don't want to live with parents. I have envisioned a wedding life where I am the incharge of my house, i have my own space and my own kitchen. I want to roam around naked and do my shit. I want to decide what i want to eat for lunch, dinner and breakfast and just be myself. I already come from a very strict family and I don't want to get back in that same environment. I hope y'all are trying to understand my point, i have communicated this with my boyfriend he said, if he lives in the same city as his parents , he would want to live with his parents, I suggested what about staying in different flats but in same tower or apartment. He's like no. He also said he doesn't want to live in India and want to work in different countries but by any chance he wishes to stay in india and in same country he would want his parents.

@@mundanelingo dont compromise with this, i am in the exact same situation like yours, try to make him agree on living away from them or dont marry that person. Otherwise you wont be able to live a compromising life, as we both knows how life is for married women living with their in-laws in India, i have been grown up seeing my grandparents bitter behaviour with my mother and how she has suffered so much, i have always dreamt of living alone in my own space and wont compromise with it, i really feel that joint family system is outdated and bad for women.

I am currently living with my in-laws they are great people so it’s nothing against them personally but We’re basically investing into their home by building an addition on there home. From an investment standpoint it’s great, desirable area in Colorado, lots of pros, Grandparents can watch the kids if we need them. They are able to spend some time with there grandkids more than they used to, we used to live 4 hours away, BUT from the standpoint of my marriage… I’m no longer the man of the house. Things that my wife would normally come to me for she now goes to dad for (i.e. fixing things, advice, etc.) Most women hold their father in very high regard naturally so I get it but where does that leave me right? You’ll never quite be on his level lol, and naturally my mother in law is the same, I’ll never be on the same level as her husband. So I tend to feel like just a boyfriend sometimes. I’m kind of venting here but in a nutshell knowing what I know now I would never have done it, so if you’re reading this… respectfully don’t do it
