My 9th great grandfather KNEW Uncas. He landed at Saybrook in 1626. He helped fight at Mystic Fort. He was a founder of Norwich. He's buried in Post and Gager Cemetery. His 8 children children married half of Norwich's first born children. Which is how my 8th great grandpa married William Bradford's granddaughter. So I'm also a Mayflower descendant. People watch this movie and think it's ancient history. I've never seen the movie, but I KNOW the history cause I can instantly recite all the ancestors, in order from my dad, back to the the 9rh great grandpa who knew Uncas.. John Courtney Keith, John Elmer, Brainard David, Harrison Reuben, Reuben Harrison, Zebulon, Zebulon, Samuel, Samuel, Richard. Richard fought with Uncas. Funny thing is, I loved this soundtrack before I knew who my ancestors were. This movie may be fiction. But it's based on a place and a time a time and a people that is still VERY REAL to some of us. It's literally how I exist.

Those Catholic Monks had no idea what green hell awaited them there. The horrific stories of the sacrifices and enslavement of Spanish sailors and Monks still haunts me to this day. If they can do that to one another, what more to a foreigner.

Go to the places in North America the Spanish, Portuguese colonized and the descendants of the native peoples are still there, go the places the English colonized in North America, not so much.

That has also to do w/ the population of those places before colonization e.g. the Andes and Mesoamerica had large agrarian societies w/ millions of inhabitants, north america instead had small bands of mostly hunter gatherers aside from some subsistence farmer in the mississipi valley

The music is touching and sad. Make me thinking of all the native americans by bad white americans who had killed them even new born babies.The whites/anglo saxons were satans commiting genocide to the tribes who have been the land owners thousand years before. The were very brave and sacrificed their lives fighting against the white invaders using tomahawks(stone axes) , knives, stones, arrows. They had no guns/rifles .Belief in Gods, ghosts and voodooism or black magic and holy curses that had the real power causing many american leaders/presidents (พวกผิวขาว อินเดียแดงผิวสวย สี tan) died in not a proper way or within due time esp. American Presidents who had sworn in in the year ending with zero. The cursings were effective, Luckily, John F.Kennedy and afterwards. They could not cast a holy spell any more. Nobody knows why? At that time , The head or Leaders (ผู้ใหญ่บ้าน) wanted to make any ceremony (black/white) they came together like a meeting.They believed and respected their Leaders as their lives. There were 542 tribes, e.g. shawnee, apache ( อะแพช เช่) ไทยแลนดี้ เรียกว่า อาปาเช่ ตามสะดวก. ผิดไหม? ไม่ผิดหรอกครับ แต่ละท้องถิ่น อาจเรียกตามคุณลักษณะที่เขาพบเขาเห็น .
