Intersting how they had these bonuses related to coin collecting in certain levels even back in SMB1. As said in the video, there are Super Mario World's bonus blocks, but Super Mario Bros. 3's White Toad Houses operate on this same exact principle as well. It really was a classic Super Mario Bros.-tradition.

I don't understand. At 6:15 and a few other places, you show someone clearly jumping over the pipe in one jump from the ground and surviving despite saying multiple times that you MUST land on the edge of the pipe in order to clear the piranha plant without dying. I'm clearly missing something with the wording because he does it again while saying it's impossible. Are you going too slow *after* you land on the other side to finish the level optimally? None of the clips of clearing the plant in one jump show what happens afterwards.

KOSMIC, WHY DON'T YOU PLAY GLITCH LEVELS NO LONGER? PLZ come back to doing these. The next time you are doing it, do the TENNIS CART GLITCH, here is how it works if you forgot: GET OUT YOUR NES, POP IN Super Mario Brothers, then turn it on, then pop out the MARIO cartridge with turning off the power, then pop in Tennis. Press RESET to start the game, start a new match & play for a little bit. YOU NEED TO WAIT UNTIL THE MUSIC STOPS & YOU MOVE AROUND A BIT AFTERWARDS. When you are done playing, pop out the Tennis cartridge without turning off the power, then put Super Mario Brothers back in, then press RESET. Now back at the title screen, hold the A button & press START. It should load up one of the 1-8 worlds that make up the full game, or you could go to WORLD 9, WORLDS A-Z, or a bunch of level numbers that use different tilesets instead of numbers or letters. HERE is some example worlds (including what the levels look like): WORLD 9-1: Underwater VERSION of 6-2 WORLD 9-2: Underwater VERSION of 1-4 / 6-4 WORLD --1 - --3: 3-3 WORLD --4 - --8: 8-3 WORLD --9: 5-2 / 6-2 UNDERWATER BONUS AREA Note that the tile "9" represents the number 9. Note that the tile "-" represents the number 40. WHEN YOU ARE making the new glitch world video, do a video of you doing all 256 different worlds, starting at WORLD 9, then working all your way to WORLD 256 (Using the Game Genie and a PowerPak to make save states when needed). You played this music in WORLD T-1 (29-1) as an example, or any cutscene level that is full of clouds. PLZ do a major comeback on GLITCH LEVELS.

This would be really fun to make a TAS for! But really suck to try get a "good" time as a human player 😛

The fact that this was such a complex mod made before the internet was a thing where people could easily share information, that's amazing! And I guess also goes to show that, before the internet, people actually used to have conversations about this type of stuff IRL with people they found in meatspace with similar interests. Seems a wild concept today! But I guess also it's a Japanese game and the larger cities in Japan are _so big_ in terms of population (IIRC Tokyo has more people than the entirety of my country, Australia) that it's probably a lot easier to find likeminded people IRL to create those kinds of communities which we now usually seek online

13:00 My guess for the Piranha Plants is that they can't move horizontally. A Goomba or something might walk back onscreen if Mario stops, but once a Piranha is off screen, it's gone.

You have to wait for 4388 busses to get to 8-2 at the right time according to the frame rule system
