Amazing! I am in awe!!! Awesome job! I was never a fan of the spinning motor in the Nacelles so I'm glad you just used the spinning moire of lights. IMO it just looks so much cooler! Great job and man you've got some serious skill!!! Great work! Thanks for the vid! 😀👍

Ah crap, now I feel nostalgic for Star Fleet Battles. Most of their ships were original series technical manual vintage. Paramount / Desilu could have shown us so many ships if they had followed the original course laid by the Amarillo Design Bureau. Awesome build, well done.

@@PatriceBoivin -- Yep, the Dreadnaught and Scout came out of those, right? Well, before that, the Starfleet Technical Manual.

How many sound cards did you put into that model?🤔 awesome job well done.❤🥰🤩
@planetpopvideos441817 күн бұрын
@RGJubilee Thank you!! And, good question, mi amigo! There are actually two -- one from the AMT kit from the 90s E refit kit with lights and sound (which is the phasers and photon torpedoes -- and came with a metal rocker/toggle) and the other is one of those recordable sound cards that held quite a few compressed MP3 files. That one has all the music and other sounds on it. It's become my thing to add music, sound effects or both to my builds. I just think it adds a cool element to the builds and turns them into the toys (although these are merely for display) I wanted as a kid, but they never existed. Now I can just make em! :-) It's certainly an education process working in these. I had zero electronics experience prior to these builds.
@RGJubilee17 күн бұрын
@@planetpopvideos4418 great job. I’m gonna do the Jupiter 2 ,and I’m gonna get one of those big sound cards. I see you use the kit too. OK that does hold a lot of audio. Thanks for let me know that cause I’m gonna order one of those. Keep up the good work when I finish mine, I’m gonna put mine online too.🤩🌎🪐🌕🛸🚀🛸
@planetpopvideos441817 күн бұрын
@RGJubilee I look forward to seeing your Jupiter 2! You may already know, but the Moebius Models light kit doesn't come with all the lights you'll need if you hope to make your build more screen accurate. I ended up adding SMDs and LEDs and a third party (Fedoratron) computer wall for that. I have yet to find a light kit for anything that has everything. I ALWAYS end up having to add lights and power boost or reduce buck boards to get everything to play nice together with regard to voltage. Then there's motors and sound boards that have to be added too. :-)

Lookin' good! Will the electronics be in the ship or the base?
@planetpopvideos44182 ай бұрын
Thank you! The light board and sounds will be in the base. That way, if there's a problem with the board I can get in to repair it. But funny you should ask that since the instruction manual suggested putting it in the saucer section. But they suggested a wooden base -- none of which really made sense to me, because once that saucer is sealed up, there's no going back.

@@planetpopvideos4418 I built the original AMT model in the 1960’s with the solid white Nacelle caps, and the subsequent lighted orange color translucent caps. The Klingon Battle Cruiser model had a coupon to purchase a Science Officer windbreaker jacket.

Do you or would you build one like this for sale?
@planetpopvideos44183 ай бұрын
I could, but it wouldn't be cheap by the time you add up all the supplies and time to build it. Mine was expensive to build. Not everything you need comes in the box. There's a lot of third party stuff that goes into building one like mine. BUT -- if I DID build another one, it would be better than mine because I learned some things as I was building this.

Thank you! The refit is a beauty. But so is the classic E. I'm working on a 1/537 scale version of her with lights and sound as well. It was originally the "cutaway" version of the kit, but I'll building her complete. This kit is bigger than the original AMT kit. The cutaway version is 22" long vs 18". Anyway, be sure to visit my other model build videos. I'll be adding more as I complete builds.

You can buy the kits and the lights, etc. From www.hdamodelworx.com, but you would have to paint and build it. There are some people out there who will build it for you for a cost...but I only build for me.

Thanks! Not sure what you mean though. The kit itself doesn't come with figures at all. Mine are 3D printed from Shapeways -- third party. But that aside, to me, figures from some source -- if to scale with the kit -- were a must.
