Fuck those directors, seriously. They used this show as nothing but one big power trip, getting rid of great characters just because they didn't like the actors, ruining the entire series with their bullshit. I hope they never work in the industry again.

One thing I’ve noticed between Jon and The Night King…they never say a word. Just stare at each other…as if The Night King knows Jon’s soul and Jon is trying to pay attention to every detail of The Night King by looking into his eyes. Never any words spoken, just a feeling that this is their destiny. To battle each other till only one is victorious…because only one can prevail. I know how the show goes, and it could’ve had an epic scene between Jon and The Night King fighting one on one till Jon is nearly defeated and The Night King shows no sign of fatigue…then Arya comes out of no where with her finishing strike to save Jon from death and Bran from being turned into an undead warg. Theon doing his best to protect Bran while dying in the process, but weakening The Night King with a dragon glass pierce to the ribcage…now that would’ve been something we as fans could handle.

They botched this moment so terribly…as soon as the night king turned around they could’ve gave Jon some epic pre battle dialogue, and we could’ve heard the night king finally speak to him while circling one another before having an epic duel…but no…they let fucking Arya kill him after doing this and summoning already dead wights…lol. What a ball drop man. The tension would’ve been palpable building up to the fight they spent basically 8 seasons eluding to.

THIS WAS HOW THE NIGHT KING SHOULD HAVE DIED. I love the fact they had Arya do it but come on they built this tension between Jon and the Night King.

Say what you will at S8, like most people I thought it was poorly written as a whole, and rushed, but there were some very well done scenes like this one, all the main characters lost someone close they loved and cared for at the battle of winterfell.

I'm sorry this was one of my biggest disappointments of the final season all the build up with jon and the night king for it to end with arya killing him. Dont get me wrong i love arya as a character but felt like she shouldve killed cersei. Imagining jamie falling in battle and arya to wear his face and then kill cersei. Or even have Jon to kill the night king but fall himself. Couldve been another reason for Dany to go mad. So much stuff couldve better happen then what we got.

One thing i always loved about the night king and the white walkers is that they are never egotistic. The guy was able to one shot a dragon, you'd think he'll be able to handle jon snow if he wanted. But why bother? Let's just respawn an entire army, he's not here to duel anyone. That makes him so much more terrifying: he wont make dumb mistakes. Well... at least he wont make dumb mistakes until the last 10 minutes of the episode. For the rest of the show he was a tactical genius.

More main characters should have went down. The plot armor was so thick it was silly. No way Jamie and Brienne survive this battle.

I thought it would be Arya. She was the most dangerous, relentless killer in the series. She's nearly like a dragon.. The Night King was always in danger from that dagger in her hands. Jon was too "noble", he'd likely think about what he was about to attempt. Arya just strikes.

They killed the hopes of the audience to watch a trully heroic tale. They literally BUTCHERED the fantasy out of the serie, and stripped out the hero archetype most of who like to watch fantasy movies love to see. And they did it on purpose. They wanted to send a message. "In this day and age, there are no heroes anymore sweety. We killed them. Put that hope to rest."

I remember when I saw the Lord of the Rings for the first time, I thought Gandalf was ment to have a final duel with the Witch King at the Battle of Minas Tirith. And when Gandalf was defeated and thrown of his horse, and his staff broken, I thought "well, then Theoden has to finish the work". And then the Witch King proceeded to thrown Theoden off his horse. And were two "unlikely heroes", Pipin and Eowyn, who teamed against the Witch King to save a deadly hurt Theoden, and the day, and do the job. So Tolkien did killed the heroic tale's most important moment here, the duel between the hero and the evil villain (because, while the Witch King is not the main villain in the trilogy, it is the physical incarnation of evil we get to see) but then... Why Arya and Night King duel is not as good? Why do we feel so bad for John, that he did not get his heroic moment? IDK... It felt so bad. I can't see Arya as an unlikely hero, like I saw Eowyn and Pipin become. I see Arya as a plot killer.

The battle of Castle Black felt like the peak of Jon’s arc of becoming a leader. I was hoping to see Jon LEAD during this battle but he gets like 2 lines and doesn’t interact with anyone. Should’ve been a Jon Snow speech to the army of winterfell to start the battle. Seeing characters like Jaime follow Jon’s orders would be so emotional.
