This lens is in my wish list for when I can afford to upgrade to a Lumix. Great focal length for an everyday carry around. Right now I have a sigma 17-70 f2.8 macro that lives on my Nikon d3100. Unfortunately they don't make that kens in L-mount. Tamron has one, but without the macro. I find myself mostly shooting in the 17-23 or 30mm range.

I just bought the S5ii kit with the 50mm but I didn’t look at the sales I should have gotten it with the 85 for just a 100 dollars more than the kit. But the 50 will be more useful

Shutter delay is something I’ve used in long exposure. If you want to press the shutter and give the camera a second to settle from the movement of you putting and taking your hand off before it starts taking the image.

My guess is you have skills with any camera. Is this S5IIX good for Real Estate Video? I come from a GH5 background and am looking to upgrade to full frame. But most of the real estate videos I see are using Sony's.

You are right anything can look good if you are good. I’d say go with a lumix because you come from a GH5 and you will feel right and home but more super charged. If you want to do a lot of 60p and don’t want the crop in 4k get you a the sigma 10-18mm F2.8 and shoot apsc it will keep the kit small and you can get 4k out of the apsc of the sensor. With out cropping. Plus weight and price are kept down :). Congratulations sir.. for a new step of your life. Really love your video. A romantic moment you shot by yourself probably on tripod. Those mountain, snow and deers are priceless and timeless. You just show me creativity is really something else out of this world. There is no need for movements of camera.. just standstill and a little bit of panning. I’m just stunned. The video is beautiful and romantic. Plus you just use one prime lens. You are a master.

What focus clutch? Never thought 24-105mm has manual clutch..enticing..This is new to me.. i’m bought.. but my wallet is saying otherwise..😂 for the moment i stay with my GH5ii..

Thank you! I'm currently debating between this and the S Pro 16-35. Cost aside, I'd prefer the S Pro, but the f4 is a real hang up for me. If you were photographing fast moving objects (young family running around in the evening, or night time action sports) would you go for this because of the f2.8, or stick with the S Pro f4 (assuming price wasn't a factor)?

I probably wouldn’t film sports with the wide angle but all in all sports are typically lit up pretty well. The extra zoom to 35mm is probably more important for anything fast moving. Sharpness is there on both but think of it like a choice between a 24-105 f4vs a 24-70 2.8. Good lighting in most cases go with the zoom over the f stop but if it’s low light then get the 2.8.

Check the mode dial at the top left, make sure it is on high resolution mode.

Hey! I have just got a used copy of this wonderful lens from B&H, but I wonder: The front element wobble a little bit. Is it normal on this lens? Best regards from Norway.

Nothing should wobble on the physical lens. The in camera ibis will make the corners of the footage wobble if you walk with it so definitely shut it off and stabilize in post for that.

What I ment was: the front of the lens feels a little bit to loose, not precise, but I know that this is normal (different construction methods) for some lenses. Like I said, I bought a used copy of this wonderful lens from B&H. It looks great, with no sign of use. But I am a little bit conserned. What do you think?

I built everything off of the 24-105 F4 macro. I think if I could get one single lens it would be that, possibly the 24-70mm F2.8 if you want to spend a little more and sigma 28-70mm F2.8 if you want to save money and get 2.8. This would depend on what you were shooting, real estate could go 16mm but overall those 3 up top are more versatile.
