Hi, really enjoyed your video! Would it be possible to get a list of links to all the parts you discussed in this video?

another idea. Maybe try mounting a big brush the entire length of the gantry it brushs over the collet holders cleaning them off as it travels back to pick up another tool. And if they are long enough it will protect them from debris while you are cutting.

Can you include a link to where you are getting theeiso20 ER16 tool holders for $20. I would really like to try them.

Just a thought maybe you should install some stops infront of each side of the linear beaings on your tool changer so you can adjust the stoping position and it you could correct it from being out of alignment with the gantry.

Nice setup. I'd add a fan to the radiator and a T between the radiator and the air dryer with a valve in order to minimize the work load on the air dryer so that you can empty water before it gets to the dryer. Other than that it's a really nice looking setup!

The video was well made and the setup looks very clean. My only complaint is that you did not list the parts and numbers and where you found them here in the comments, that would've been nice so I don't have to search all over for them.

Thank you. I've used paper clips to remove these before and this time I kept the tool around that ships with the products but it's too short and I can never remember whether the clip should get pushed up or down. This zip-tie hack was the easiest way I've ever used to remove these access points from the ceiling. Really appreciate this video.

Hi, very nice Omio. Thank´s for uploading all this videos, they are a great inspiration. I also have an Omio and want to add an ATC spindle, maybe you can answer me two questions. Can the original steppers handle the extra spindle weight (I have seen you have upgraded to servos)? Would you choose the JGL80-1,5kw again or would you go with the JGL80-2,2kw or maybe even the JGL100-3,2kw?
@NikitaLab
@NikitaLab 5 ай бұрын
Original stepper was fine just slow, I think AC servo let me increase Z axis feedrate by 800%. The stepper had better holding torque when unpowered; the Z axis sags when you cut power to the AC servo. For this 6040 frame a 1.5kw spindle is more than enough. If I could buy a spindle again I would go with more RPM. For single flute and small endmill work especially. Originally I purchased the 1.5kw 24KRPM model because the faster 30K and 40K spindles actually increased in diameter to 100mm at the ATC piston. I wanted to avoid modifying the Z axis assembly and further reducing the work area so I chose the 80mm OD spindle model; it was a direct replacement of the original spindle. My advice is to keep the spindle 80mm OD (1.5-2.2kw) and go high RPM.

How much air does the compressor really need to provide for the ATC? I've read 90 PSI at a run rate of 5 CFM. In the videos I am watching, it only seems to need the 90 PSI during a tool change event. Seems like the 5 CFM requirement is overkill...

@NikitasLab hey man I was wondering if you would be able to make a BOM for the components your ATC air assist system is made up of the names of the parts with pictures maybe? I've never really known what make up those systems and would like to make one myself. Any insight in how the whole system is made would be great 👍 Thanks

for the moment i have this spindle that usually comes with a home cnc machine. have these small collars that i have to change manually. Do i need to get a totally new spindle to have this took holder shuck or can i rebuild the one i have?
@Xenomorphin1
@Xenomorphin1 3 ай бұрын
You need a totally different spindle, called an ATC (automatic tool changer) spindle. It needs air lines to clamp / unclamp it, you can hear it hissing. They are a lot more expensive than the random chineese ER20 collet type ones though.

Oval holes, looks like Nema 24 with 23 hole compatibility, doesn't help the larger frame size though, 23 and 24 have the same size central circular boss by default. Faulty advertising for sure.

Did anyone ask if this radiator is in line between the compressor and the tank?
@mikemaj8467
@mikemaj8467 10 ай бұрын
I would argue that the cooler placement should be between the air compressor pump and storage tank. You want to store dry air. I'd also install a fan on the aftercooler. It could very wired so that the fan only runs when the compressor runs.
@jamestrinka
@jamestrinka 5 ай бұрын
Agreed. Also, I’d suggest a tee at the end of the coil with the outlet going vertical to the water separator and the downward going to a drip drum to catch water so the separator isn’t mechanically handling all of the moisture from the system.

the first cooler video I watched the guy mounted the radiator to the fan shroud so that when the pulley spun it acted as ai fan to pull air across the coils but he had a large compressor
