Basically have the chart memorized and rely entirely on the audio for timings. It definitely takes some practice but after a while it's surprisingly not all that bad

Seems to just be a weird quirk with how that animation was programmed, it can sometimes be in sync if the first drum note is on beat 4 instead of beat 1 but most of the time it just shows the entry happening way before the audio of the actual hit lol Animations are also affected by video calibration delay so that probably doesn't help when I'm playing at crazy settings for early whammy

Yeah this song is definitely one of Paramore's best! Glad they had it on the main setlist for this game, it's really fun to play on every part

It's only powerful enough if all Post Processing is turned off, even then some of the larger venues aren't quite capable of maintaining a smooth 60

Hadn't really planned on ever doing much RBN content honestly, that one seems like a pretty decent song but goes on for a long time and the path consists entirely of annoying acts so I don't think I'll be playing it anytime too soon

It genuinely is a good song - really fun to play in this game too, probably even more so with lanes disabled but even with them on it wasn't that bad once I figured out the trick

Yeah the effects look really good in your video with them enabled, unfortunately I have to keep them disabled to maintain a smooth 60 fps. There's a _ton_ of camera cuts that still happen throughout the song though lol

Yeah a lot of the mechanics in this game that affect score benefit from as negative calibration delay as possible so I have to hit notes several frames ahead of the strikeline lol

Yeah they were painful at first, but the key (like all lanes, apparently) was figuring out how to cheese them and play something else that somehow works consistently instead of what's actually charted and would feel natural lol

Yeah, there's been almost zero understanding of how whammy works in the RB series so a lot of the "top" scores can be beaten super easily

I use an RGH modded Xbox 360 which allows custom songs, from what I've heard it's possible to get customs working with a specific version of the game on a vanilla Xbox 360 but I'd assume it's a lot easier to just get a modded console at this point

@@Radekore Oh I was asking more about Hier Kommt Alex and Rock n Roll Star! I’m on both RGH and RPCS3 and those two songs work fine on the former, but not the latter. Was hoping to find a way to trick the game into letting me play them on PS3 like I did with the three RB1 unexportables, but doesn’t look like that’s gonna happen :( Oh well at least the EU tracks work on RGH 360 :)

Oh I think the song spreadsheet from the RB3 Deluxe Discord had a recently updated pkg that did allow the EU exclusives to work on PS/RPCS3, not sure though since I haven't used it myself

@@Radekore well the actual song itself is safe aside from being monetized as it’s from Taylor swift who is one of the biggest artists in the world, even if there were restrictions, they wouldn’t really enforce it I feel. I’m assuming the ERG upload was taken down as I stated due to trolls although for all I know, they could have just deleted it or something or I’m misremembering.

Yeah Nirvana has a few really good alt/unplugged versions! Probably helps that their songs are always legendary

Yeah it's a pretty nice song - I wasn't a huge fan of it when I first played it and wrote the description but it's grown on me since then

Yeah I was never a huge fan of this band, most of the stuff I listened to by them was like Dead on Arrival or Dance Dance so it was a huge tone shift to hear their newer songs lol. Felt like as they kept going they gutted all the formerly awesome instrumental parts to put the focus on underwhelming vocal parts - unfortunately not the first or last band to do that kind of thing. Haven't listened to their newest album yet, will have to give it a try.

This is Rock Band 3 Deluxe, a slightly modified version of the game with a ton of extra customization options

I would assume that almost any kind of instrument would work with the right configuration, but I play on an RGH modded Xbox 360 so I don't know any of the specific details about how to do that on RPCS3

It really only affects sustains, it's kinda hard to explain without an example or picture comparison on hand but more negative delay pushes the sustain tail farther back and delays the amount of time before the ticks start increasing, but the "detached" part of the sustain after hitting the note can be whammied for a longer amount of time to get slightly more OD, which can also be paired with hitting the note as early as possible to maximize OD gains for more effective squeezing. Doesn't come for free though, there's a fair degree of risk/reward since holding a sustain for the full value becomes MUCH harder at low delay so notes that come after them generally have to be hit very late into their timing windows to avoid losing points. The timing windows themselves are the exact same (just at different timings relative to the strikeline) so it doesn't really "feel" any different than usual other than having to hold sustains longer. After a while you get used to just playing in time with the audio since visuals aren't a reliable indicator of timing with them shifting around at different calibration values for every song.

For this one calibration didn't actually matter since there were no whammy notes or tick acts, still played it at like -70 ms though just because I'm used to it lol

Not sure, there doesn't seem to be a setup guide for Xenia on the RB3DX site currently. From what I understand Xenia is very unoptimized for playing RB3 so it's much more recommended to use RPCS3 for playing on PC
