You'll no doubt get good value and plenty of land out there, much better than around the Raleigh area, but I would not suggest it if you are wanting/needing to be in the Raleigh area frequently as it's quite the drive. It's better obviously for those who want to be closer to the beach.

So are you saying I don't have to get my car inspected before I go get plates for first time, but only later when I renew? I am confused
@relocatingtoraleigh2 күн бұрын
That is correct when you're moving from out-of-state. From the DMV's website on the question of registering vehicles from out-of-state, "You will be allowed to register the vehicle without an inspection. When your next annual registration renewal is due, you must have the vehicle inspected to renew your registration." Now if you already reside in North Carolina, and purchase a privately owned vehicle in NC, you WILL have to get the vehicle inspected before obtaining your permanent plates (unless you have proof of inspection already within the last 12 months from previous owner).

So are all of these neighborhoods HOA’s?
@relocatingtoraleigh3 күн бұрын
Yes all of these neighborhoods are HOAs. Just about everything in Cary will be HOAs with exception of some very old neighborhoods in the center of Cary.
@aarondouglas1306 күн бұрын
My sister lived in Apex in the greater Raleigh area. I have lived in the DC area for years and now I live in NJ. The system of roadways in the greater Raleigh area are highly dangerous especially at night because there is little lighting and many roads have no guiding painted lines. Also, everything is so sprawling that it feels like forever to get anywhere, and like driving forever to nowhere because much of the land area is still undeveloped. It seems the planners expected massive growth in a short period of time, but the quick expansive growth they planned for is actually happening slower than anticipated. In NJ it takes us at most 10 minutes to get to where we want to go to have fun, gym, eat, and shop. My daughter's school is 5 mins away, and the hospital and other doctors and dentist are no more than 10 minutes away. Granted, where I live the population is a lot less, and there is a lot of undeveloped land, which makes things easier, but it just seems things where I live were planned better and building new roads has been commensurate with changes to population size.
@relocatingtoraleigh5 күн бұрын
No doubt there could have been better planning here. Thank you for your insight!

Great video. How long can I drive with out-of-state license plates and insurance and license before getting into trouble?
@relocatingtoraleigh7 күн бұрын
Thank you! Technically it's 3 months for the license and plates, but given how behind our DMV is and how hard it is to get appointments, it's not really enforced that stringently as it's known that 3 months isn't really feasible. I would hop on the insurance though and try to get that situated when you get here to make sure you're covered.

How’s is 610,000 affordable ?
@relocatingtoraleigh8 күн бұрын
You're right, $610k would not be considered affordable. Averages are obviously deceiving, Wake Forest has many luxury communities that bring the average up, but overall, there are actually quite a few communities that are in the $350-$500k range, which is more affordable overall in this climate. I tried to emphasize the word "Relative" Affordability, as Wake Forest is more affordable than other popular suburbs of Raleigh, but still isn't cheap.
@m3dean919 күн бұрын
What about the property taxes in Wake Forest in comparison to the surrounding areas? That could definitely be considered a con.
@relocatingtoraleigh8 күн бұрын
Agree, at ~$1.11 per $100 of property value, it's on the higher end. Clayton and Garner are some of the highest at $1.33 and $1.17, respectively, while places like Holly Springs and Fuquay are closer to $1.04/$1.05. Cary is actually one of the lowest at $0.96 because of their population. Putting that into dollar amounts, in comparison to Holly Springs/FV, you're looking at about $300-$400 more in property taxes in Wake Forest compared to those two places.

You didnt mention the differnece in wages and weather. Its hot as hell and you make a fraction of what you make up north. Good to retire, not so much live imo.
@relocatingtoraleigh11 күн бұрын
When I looked at the wages, it was actually closer than you might think. Certainly depends on the industry, but the tech jobs here bring the area's wages up quite a bit. Yes it is definitely hot and humid during certain portions of the summer, but you won't have to worry much about snow.

Please we’re moving to Durham next month from Brazil 🇧🇷, my wife is coming to study at the UNC and I wanted to ask if you can help with video on how to rent as a foreigner without credit score please … 🙏🏼
@relocatingtoraleigh12 күн бұрын
This will be on a case-by-case basis depending on where you're looking. Some apartment complexes/landlords will forego a credit check with proof of income; however, if you're just moving here and likely won't have a job, I would highly suggest contacting UNC to see what rental options they have available. UNC and other universities around here have international students come here all the time, and will have housing options available for you.

4400 turkish villages in Turkey are all covered with muddy, unasphalted roads in the inner villages and village houses are made of cow shit mainly. Tractors of turkish villagers are very old, 3 million turks earn 225 euros pension wages mainly living in those kinds of turkish villages. Turkey possesses 1 million illetarate turkish citizens with 3 years old orangutan brains looking empty eyes towards the world. Turkey has got only 4000 kms of motorways and 4000 kms of fast train lines with 250 kms per hour. Each year 50 million to 60 million foreign tourists have been passing their holidays in Turkey because of not giving importance to recycling waste waters, sewages of incumbents near the seasides especially for 100 years time. Factories in Turkey lay away their sewages, waste waters to turkish rivers, Marmara , Aegean , Mediterenean seas indefinitely sustainably. Aegean sea in and around İzmir has become black or dark in grey colours because of heavy dirtiness of millions of people's sewage.17 million turkish workers earn net minimum wage of 500 euros per month, i.e. 17.000 tl. Turkey is much cheaper than China, İndia touristic places and 5 star hotels. Youth unemployment has been 35 percent for 5 decades in Turkey because of that Turkish army, navy, air force never can solve terrorism problems since year 1979. Youth unemployment is rampant between ages 18 to 40 years old in Turkish big cities. Normal intercity trains move at 50 km per hour to 70 km per hour towards Ankara İzmir, Ankara Erzurum, Kars Ardahan , Ankara Samsun, Ankara Adana train lines. Turkey has got 91.000 mosques and 225 universities in the country. 35 universities are in operation within Northern Cyprus. Turkey has got 6 million illegal refugees from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Black Africa, Syria, İraq, İran inside Turkey.
