I would like to share my opinion as a casual player. First, if there is a discussion as a result of this comment, I want it to be civil. I don't care for name calling, insults, baity comments, etc. I don't care what camp of players it's from. Second, this is just my opinion. It's ok to disagree with it, and it's ok not to like it. It'll probably be lengthy too. So, I will start with the fact that I started playing January 2018, during Chapter 1 Season 2. Before the competitive scene, before Zero Build, before Creative, before skill based matchmaking, and a lot of other things, and I've played through almost every Season of the game. But regardless, I'm still a casual player, because I've never been the competitive type. I only sweat when completing challenges. You'd probably assume I was a pro, or at least a good builder/editor, but I'm not. I'm a solo player who, after completing challenges, will just find ways to goof off, pursue unorthodox ways to get funny outcomes. You could say this started with the original introduction of shopping carts. So, being open here, I have never enjoyed build gameplay. I understand that it's a core gameplay element, I understand that I never took the time to learn or practice building and editing. I don't know how to box, I don't know how to do 90s, I've never even touched my build relevant settings. I am a complete novice with builds. Before Zero Build, builders were like the Wrecked cars for me. I didn't have a feasible means to counter them most of the time. But Victory Royales were never enticing for me. I can't speak for other casual players, I would answer you, no, I don't like playing Fortnite, at least not the ways it's intended, or in any competitive framework, and most certainly not in Build mode. I don't even remember the last time I played a build mode match, it definitely wasn't Chapter 5, probably not even in Chapter 4. As for my thoughts on C5S3, and the cars. I think the cars are unbalanced. They can be fun if your in one (I just goof off in my car, I don't use it as a weapon), but I think the loot pool should have been arranged to accommodate, such as anvil rocket launchers or reinforced walls (for the builders). Maybe some new traps or equipment to help counter the broken items. Epic likes to add new features and gimmicks, but they don't have a good track record of balancing gameplay. It should be like an elaborate rock paper scissors match. Boogie Bombs and explosive crossboys are a step forward, but not a perfect solution. But as I don't play competitive, and hve never been more than silver in ranked, I don't feel equipped to offer an elaborate solution. I'm mostly echoing other people's suggestions. Truth be told, I've spent most of my Chapter 5 gameplay hours on LEGO Fortnite, because LEGO is my biggest hobby. I'm glad that my favorite Chapter 1 skins, like my Blue Squire, knight skins, and PS+ skins, have LEGO styles. I know I've rambled a lot already, my comment is a bit of a mess, but I just wanted to share my take on all this.

Fortnites whole thing that makes it fun is the fact there’s more than just weapons to fight people with. there are things like mythics, boogie bombs to screw people over who are driving, flowberry fizz so you have advanced movement or hell. What about using fists for movement. Like using wings last season. Or chains with how op they were. The fun from Fortnite doesn’t come from just the game it’s self. It’s the creative items in it at least that keep me coming back

I really don’t understand the logic of this video and many of the comments here. Casuals don’t typically have a hard time adapting surprisingly, as long as something is FUN. That’s the key here. The reason why casual players don’t like playing builds is because it’s simply not fun for them. The most common explanation is that many build players are far more experienced with building, which makes it a slog for new players to learn aka it’s not fun or rewarding. But it is fun to play around with the new nitro fists, using turrets and cars. Im not saying there’s not problems, I completely agree with less car health, increased spread on turrets, and damage reduction for nitro fists. But to go further and say “these items should be removed” or “these mechanics aren’t what Fortnite’s about” don’t understand what the game actually needs. Fortnite needs players. It needs new, fun things to draw in new players. Pros need casuals to stomp, that is the lifeblood of the game, remove the casuals, pros are forced to fight pros, the game slowly declines. So I always find it funny when build players and pros look down on casuals and zero build players when those groups are literally what’s keeping the game afloat.

as a person who plays all modes both ZB and builds. i felt from the start the way the season is trying to be should have been a separate game mode.. like how they did ZB to begin with (currently).. not everyone wanted it.. and not everyone is forced to play it. this whole cars with turrets, nitro fits should have been a game mode for the season. then kept Regular Builds/ZB not as is but way toned back to how it should be.. gun fight focused... they can keep the consumables but the fists/car turret meta def shoulda been separated to where people like i and many others are not FORCED to play it. cause ngl. some days yeah i wanna go crazy with my homies doing drive bys on people and flying thru boost rings and ish.. but tbh most days.. i wish i could drop into a game (with out having to play a tourny) and just play normally without getting DoomFisted or ran tf over/mowed down by a turret when im tryna have gun fights and if it was separated and it did well.. they can keep it.... IN ITS OWN PLAYLIST ... like they did ZB.. but it was way to jarring for most to out of nowhere switch up damn near everything playstyle wise like that on people who been playing for a long time

As somebody who is quite good at the game( unreal in builds if I try to push), I actually enjoy this season. I haven’t t played the last ones, because it seemed so repetitive. Always the same mechanics and shit. Every season was pretty much the Same, just the poi s and weapons were a bit diff. I like the new season, because it s just fun riding around in a car with ur friends and it s sum new. Also, Fortnite lives from the casual players, they are the ones that buy the most skins and cost the least amount of money, so it s just logical for epic games to do something for the casual players and honestly, there are so many more causal players than comp players, that u would make more people unhappy than happy, if u removed the cars.

the problem is that fortnite is still trying to merge the casual and competitive community and will never fully split loot pools so that it’s fair. I don’t understand why they are so against splitting the loot pool. not to mention that this is one of rare times where i will die and genuinely not know what i could have done better to prevent it. the fact that you can run through walls and pump someone with little to no downside is stupid.

Bro from the 1st clip should have just used ramps…not wall. Casual or pro…the game you are playing is still at the top because of the fact that they keep changing shit to the point where it’s a new game. Yea it’s frustrating but would you prefer to learn the new meta or learn a new game. And regardless of what you choose it your choice. Don’t complain about unless you are making the game.

I personally think that the cars ,fists and other op items from other seasons are quite fun to use, but it’s miserable when they start being spammed against you and you don’t have it. I know a lot of people would say “just take them then,” but as much as I like bullying people with car turrets, I’d rather play Fortnite BR, not Forza with guns. But to each their own I guess…

as a casual I like playing builds because I have options incase I get shot at, but I also get kind of frustrated when someone who’s better at the game starts rushing me with builds. I just wanna shoot guns but I feel like I can’t do that when my opponent is buried in builds. I do wanna try to get better at building past just placing a wall so I don’t get shot

Zero build competitive does have a very large player base. There’s more players that play zero build💯but I do like build fights. Reason I’ve been practicing! But even me as a zero build player I don’t like being fisted at all. But do like the mobility side😂

Edit: Using ramps & edited cones (Like @reidtheninja mentioned) will probably full counter nitro, as, for some reason, they can't go through it. It might be nice, alongside the fist build damage nerf. I think, that the way it can be used now (As close quarters, or as mobility, kinda like the grapple blade) is good enough. Mobility is useful, and if you can get the punches in, then they probably would've already been dead to a shotgun anyways. Pre edit: (Below) Step one: Use ramps. A lot of ramps. For some reason, you have to run at them in which you hit the edge, and if you run under the ramp it doesn't go through, if you run over the ramp, well, it's a ramp after all. Step two: In boxfights, use edited cones, to prevent destruction of your box.

Personally I enjoy Fortnite but at the same time I love this season over all it feels fresh feels new and feels a little shaken up. To me it feels like epic is experimenting a little with newer things which I like. Overall i feel like it should be reverted for pubs and make everything how it is right now in ranked.

for boom bolt, there is a prefire mechanic that you can do that is very powerful, and it has been tested by martoz. obviously, its not as good as the other two items, buti find it underrated.

epic gotta split the lootpools already. i dont think it would be that hard for them to do so, just make it to where overpowered/broken stuff isn't in comp, and almost everyone agrees on it, so why dont they? edit: i hate the casuals who always say "adapt" to the pros, they cant, all of the years they have spent training their building skills, all just too "adapt" in one season that has only been out for 2 weeks, you cant just adapt to that, at least not this quickly, again why they should split the lootpools
