The cost is not trillions, but works out at less than one percent of government spending during its construction.

Nice shots. I think this videos title and description don't really match up with the footage. You've got first the Kingsbury compound near Marston, then at 2:55 it's the A5 near Hints and finally 3:25 the A38 which is east of Lichfield

Thanks for that. I realise that this is the uncut version. I presume that most of the Delta Junction site is included along with the Interchange station site and at the end,I think, Water Orton and the start of the Bramford tunnels. There are some real signs of progress. Captions would be. Very helpful. Thanks again.

Not about Speed per se but putting long distance Inter City traffic onto a dedicated line to free up capacity on the existing routes. IMO HS2 should have traversed the Whole of England following the Line of the Pennines north of Birmingham with branches off West to Liverpool and Manchester, Carlisle and Glasgow, East to Nottingham, Hull/York and Leeds, Newcastle and Edinburgh. It should have extended North to the Central Belt of Scotland (at least). The original concept was minimalist to say the very least. The lies pedalled by @stophs2 were outrageous. Deutsche Bundesbahn got it right in the 1980s/90s by building the North-South Route (Hamburg- ) Hannover - Fulda - Würzburg - Nürnberg (- München) which has allowed extensive expansion of local and City-rail services along the Route.

I'm dreading the M42 road closures when they span the motorway. Living near the triangle plus the junction where the truncated east mids section will still be started, there are HS2 roadworks in all directions. Ill be gutted if the truncated east mids spur goes into Kingsbury water park, a lot of damage for nothing. The plans still appear to show that as this phase. The M42 is something like 12 lanes at that point, it will take some bridging!
